Title: Twisted Fate
Pairing: Monaboyd, in more ways than one, harhar.
Rating: Entire series~R; This chapter~PG-13
Summary: It's been 7 years since Dom and Billy last saw each other, and now Dom has to face 7 years of events and the future all in one week. All a lot sooner than he'd like.
Feedback: Would be loved more than porn and chocolates on a cold and lonely Saturday night.
Author's Notes: Finally! Chapter 10. Dom's just gotten the message that Billy's sick, and he's rushed right over to Billy's house. What's going to happen there? You'll see...
Dedications: This chapter is dedicated to the following people because of their constant reviews of this story, which I am immensely proud of, as well as in most my other fics.
LillyWhite1, Glorfinniel, Heather88, Merenwen_Ruby, Aire_Blair, Cryst1961, Dylan, RedHead4Life77, ElvenMofo, PinkElephants, Black_Rose963, Ruby_Took, Feelings_Fool and of course, 2 of my most favorite people in the entire world,Domlicious_Sam and HobbitGwen. Thanks for everything, y'all!

=====================================================
There was a note taped to the front door when Dom got there. It was in Nic's neat, precise handwriting, so Dom didn't even need to see the signature to know it was from him.
"All that you could ever want, all that you could ever need, right now, at this very moment, is at your feet.
Signed, your Niccy."
Dom didn't need to recall all his childhood education to realize what Nic was talking about.
He bent down, lifted the flap of the welcome rug (which Dom had always thought to be rather ugly), and took the key from where Nic had hidden it.
It was with some difficulty that Dom opened the front door, because he was hurrying, hardly concentrating on what it was he was doing. All he knew was that he had to get to Billy now. Billy was having a hard time, Billy was sick, and it was all because of Dom again...
"Billy?" Dom called when he entered the living room. Of course, no one answered him. Billy was holed up his room upstairs, and could not have possibly heard it.
So Dom rushed upwards, taking the stairs 2 or 3 at a time, and was quite naturally out of breath when he reached Billy's door.
Carefully, quietly, he slowly twisted the knob and opened the door to Billy's room and peered around.
Billy was laying on his bed, his unseeing eyes opened towards the direction of the closed windows, at least 3 thick blankets bunched up around him from the waist down. To Dom, he looked paler than death.
He approached with slow, almost uncertain steps, and bit at his lip until he tasted blood when he reached the bed after what seemed like 2 eternities.
He stroked Billy's hair and planted a tiny little kiss on his forehead. A smile spread across Billy's face as he turned his head in the general direction of Dom. "Dom," he acknowledged, and as it happened in the garden almost 5 nights ago, his entire countenance lit up with what seemed to be unspeakable joy and relief, "Dom, you're here."
"Are you okay, Bill?"Dom asked, taking one of Billy's limp hands into his. "I am now," Billy breathed, "Where have you been? Why haven't you been coming over?"
"I had some thinking over to do," Dom answered softly. "And 'thinking over' usually includes an entire pack of cigarettes to be consumed within 72 hours and passing out drunk in your living room couch for the past 3 days now, right?" Billy replied wryly, "Oh yes, Dom, I know what's been happening to you. Nic's told me. Estelle tells him. They've done nothing but talk about you and me, do you know that?"
And it suddenly hit Dom, and he clicked his tongue. "That's how Nic found out about you and me," he said, more to himself than to Billy.
A silence passed between them, and Dom knew Billy was thinking of something to say.
"So he knows?" Billy said after a while, "He knows about...about us." "Yeah," Dom answered, "I've been wondering how he found out. It was Estelle then. Her mother would have told her."
Again, there was a silence. Longer this time, and Dom struggled for words to say, but Billy beat him to it.
"So...you know about that night," he said, and Dom knew Billy was referring to The Night, "Did Nic tell you?"
"Oh yeah," Dom said, "Though I don't think he'd meant to. I think he just kind of...blurted it out. He was rather panicky when he was telling me about it."
"And so you've kept away from me because you think it's your fault that I'm without sight and wife," Billy finished, "Dom, would it make you feel better if you heard it from me, from my own mouth, that this is not your fault?"
Dom shrugged as he leaned against the canopy. "Just a little bit," he said sadly, "I can't help saying I'm sorry, you know."
"Sorry?" Billy said with a laugh, "Now there's something I don't often hear come out of your gob. You must be serious." "Dead serious," Dom replied, "I really am sorry. Sorry I got jealous when you told me you were getting married. Sorry I decided that night never to talk to you again. Sorry I never told you that I had moved back here to England with Estelle. Sorry I made you miss me. Sorry I made you argue with Ali."
"Shut up, Dominic," Billy interjected, laughing to himself, "You've done too much thinking, you know that? I'm not going to say that you had nothing to do with the accident, because it was you we were arguing about. But we didn't start arguing about you. Something had come up for Ali, she'd gotten a nice job in LA, and she wanted to move the entire family there, and I couldn't agree. I didn't want to leave. I was, and am, absolutely comfortable here, I didn't need anymore of that American bullshit ruining my beautiful family. So it wasn't just you. It was about a million other things, including me not being open to change. So stop your rhapsodizing."
A third, even longer silence. That was all cleared up now, but there was still something heavy pressing on Dominic's chest.
"Billy?" Dom said, shifting so that he was lying next to Billy instead of sitting up on the bed, "Do you hate me?"
Billy smiled softly. "I don't hate you, Dominic," he said, "I can never hate you. Never believe otherwise. The day I start hating you is the day the world starts spinning backwards on its axis."
A relieved smile formed on Dom's face. "I love you, old man," he said, taking the hand that he still held and touching it to his lips. "I know," Billy answered simply. Dom leaned in closer and kissed his forehead, his nose, his cheek, his lips.
And the kiss they shared was just as it always was. It was gentle and loving and sweet. It told of a million promises, all meant to be kept. It was immediately intoxicating and addicting. It lasted an entire lifetime. Just like old times.
"Don't leave me, Dommie," Billy whispered into Dom's neck when they finally broke apart. "Go to sleep, Billy," Dom replied, kissing him softly again, "I'm not going anywhere."
It was the first time in the past 4 mornings that both of them slept peacefully.
========================================================================
A/N: Not quite the end yet, everybody. One more chapter and then we get to the Epilogue chapter. So...just...hang in there. It's getting rather good. At least, in my opinion. :D Feedback would be nice! Thanks!

But anyway, thanks for dedicating this chapter to me and hobbitgwen (again). You don't have to do that - at least not for me. You know I love you, in fact most of us do.

I do try...::BEAMS SHYLY, VERY FLATTERED.::
Answer: Well...Dom is smoking now, I think he's been smoking for quite some time now. I don't know who started him on it, probably Elijah. I think he used to smoke, like before he had a girlfriend, which was before LoTR, and then he quit, and then probably Teh One Who Smokes Too Much (coughcoughLIGHEcoughcough) got him started again. I do know that he prefers girls who don't smoke themselves.
You know I love you too!

And this chapter? Pure love for it. Seriously. It's adorable and a teensy bit angsty and I love it to pieces.

At the beginning I was still worried, especially at reading this:
Billy was laying on his bed, his unseeing eyes opened towards the direction of the closed windows, at least 3 thick blankets bunched up around him from the waist down. To Dom, he looked paler than death.
But then I was really overjoyed at the ending of this chapter :)
I hope you'll write the next part soon, 'cause I absolutely love this story.

Maybe should have been "shifting so that he was lying next to Billy"?
That said, I do love this series. I'm so happy that Dom went to Billy and let him know he knows. And the kiss was just lovely. Am very much looking forward to the next part.
