Sometimes I wake on hot summer nights and watch the fan, spinning above the bed. Not fully released from sleep, I think, maybe WE are the fan. Always together, on the same path. Separate parts working to make a perfectly designed whole.

Will there be a time when a gear will slip, sending us off course? Break from time and wear? Come to a grinding, final halt? But, I feel your solid warmth along my back. And lulled by the rotation of the blades, my cares drift into the night. I return fully to sleep beneath the cooling breeze.
