Title: Twisted Fate
Pairing: Monaboyd, in more ways than one, harhar.
Rating: Entire series~R; This chapter~PG-13, for language.
Summary: It's been 7 years since Dom and Billy last saw each other, and now Dom has to face 7 years of events and the future all in one week. All a lot sooner than he'd like.
Feedback: Would be loved more than porn and chocolates on a cold and lonely Saturday night.
====================================================
The first time in a long time he set eyes on the youth, Dominic thought he'd gone back in time.
He was a strapping young lad, taller than Dominic by roughly 3 inches. His dusty-blond hair stuck right up on end with what Dom thought was an unimaginable amount of gel. He smiled in a certain way, a smile that only he could own, and no one else in the whole entire world. He had startling and expressive green eyes, which seemed to have a permanent glint in them.
Just like his father did.
Dominic snapped out of his musings as the very object of his thoughts came striding up to him. "Uncle Dom," said the lad in a deep voice which reminded Dom (strangely enough) of his own, "So glad you could make it. I've been looking all over for you...I knew you'd come." The kid scratched the back of his head in a way that suggested it was purely out of habit.
Dom had to clear his throat before he could speak. "It's great to see you too, Nic," he replied, "S'been a long time. Where's your dad?" With a snort, Nic jerked his thumb backwards over his shoulder. "In the garden, sulking, as usual," he replied as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Dom couldn't help looking up.
"As usual?" he asked him. Nic shrugged dismissively. "He's been doing a lot of it since the accident," he answered. Dom's eyes narrowed. How in the world did he not know this? "What accident?" he asked, rather horrified. "Oh, you don't know?" Nic asked, surprised. "I wrote you, telling you about it. A long time ago."
Dom was even more perplexed now. "I didn't get anything from you or your parents for the past 7 years, Niccy," he told him, "What accident?" He really wanted to know. It was killing him. How in the entire fucking world did he miss this?
Nic turned towards the garden. "I think he'll be able to tell you about it better than I can," he offered, "Besides, I wasn't there, so I wouldn't know if all my facts are straight. Dad never did tell me everything."
Dom turned to the garden as well, where there as a solitary figure, sitting crouched on a bench facing the wall, so that its back was turned to the inside. "D'you think he'll tell me if he hasn't told you?" he asked Nic, hardly able to take his eyes away from the garden. "He might," Dom heard Nic answer.
"Dad!" came another voice, a female's this time. Dom turned to see Estelle coming his way with her favorite green duffle bag, stuffed past full. "Oh hey," Dom greeted, giving his daughter a huge hug, "You're here! Where's Maria?"
Estelle snorted. "Gone," she answered with a role of her sea-blue eyes, "She just dropped me off with a warning to you not to bring me back to her place after the summer is over or else she'll castrate you. She's dropping all of my other things at your place. I think she's finally had enough of me. Kept saying I reminded her too much of you, the bitch."
"Ouch," Dom said sarcastically, "So you're shacking up with dear old dad." "Yep," answered Estelle, almost too excited at the prospect, "For about an entire year. I promise your 18th birthday gift to me will be a new house, away from you."
It took a while for the statement to sink in. "Ha ha," Dom answered, "You wish. Look, I'm just gonna go talk to a friend of mine, could you stay here with Nic, just for a little while?" Estelle took a solitary step back, and seemed to regard Nic for a while, but then she shrugged and said, "Okay." Dom kissed his daughter on the forehead and then, with a promise that he wouldn't take long (which he knew he was not going to be able to keep now that there was a matter of urgent importance that he had to know), he wormed his way through the bevy of guests towards the closed garden.
The glass door was closed. Behind it was that same vision from a while ago. A bent little man sitting, staring at the wall, cane on the bench beside him. Dom took a deep breath and opened the door.

A/N: It's a bit short this chapter, and a bit on the babbling side, but I promise it's going to get interesting in the next one. Hope you liked! In the meantime, please leave feedback. Muchas gracias, arigatou gozaimasu, salamat, and thank you.

Only one question, and it's only because I haven't had enough coffee yet that I ask this: you describe Nic's eyes as startling and expressive blue eyes, which seemed to have a permanent glint in them. Just like his father did. Just wondering why they wouldn't be green like Billy's. Early morning curiousity, that's all.
Otherwise, I thinks it a really good start...
