He was late.

Sean knocked on the door to Billy and Dom's apartment. When he heard "Enter" he walked inside to see his kids and two coworkers sitting on the couch, legs propped up, munching on popcorn and watching cartoons.

"Sorry I'm late guys," he said, shutting the door behind him. "Got sidetracked a bit during dinner then hit some traffic on the way here."

"Daddy!" His kids bounded off the sofa and headed straight towards him. Grinning broadly he kneeled down to meet them; they didn't want hugs, though, but to talk his ear off. "We had SO much fun today! There was a parade, and floats, and dancers..."

"Whoa whoa, parade?" Sean said, turning his amused gaze to Billy and Dom. "What parade?"

"Oh, it was Gay Pride today in London," Dom chipped in, tossing a piece of popcorn into his mouth. "Fun stuff."

Sean's smile slipped a bit. "You took my children to a gay pride parade?" he asked faintly, not quite sure how to react.

"You should have seen them dad," his son uttered, his eyes all alight. "They had these big hats on, and really bright dresses and fun wigs, and they let me walk with them too!"

"Wait, wait, who let you walk with them?" When the boy pointed excitedly at Dom and Billy, Sean looked over once again at the two.

Dom rattled a maraca still in his hand. "Cha cha cha."

"It was SO much fun dad! Everyone was so colorful, and they had fun music playing. I even got to ride on one of the floats; a ca...cabara..."

"Cabana," Billy supplied helpfully.

"Cabana dancer on it was a friend of Dom's!" Sean's son finished, beaming. He let out a sigh. "I can't wait to grow up and be in a gay parade."

Oh lord, what was their mother going to say? He turned wide eyes to Billy and Dom, unsure how to respond.

"Don't worry, they weren't recognized," Dom assured him. "We were on the committee so we knew there weren't going to be any more risque displays this time."

His little daughter tugged on his arm. "Daddy," she said in a serious voice, "I like girls."

"Um," Sean replied, feeling queasy, "yes pumpkin, we'll, er, talk about that when you grow up a little more."

"Bye Uncle Dom, Uncle Billy!" the two kids called, waving. Billy and Dom waved back from the couch, Billy slinging popcorn everywhere as he waved the hand holding the bowl; the kids loved it. The sound of Dom's longsuffering sigh was the last thing they heard before the door was shut.
