Billy and Dom

lotrpschallenge. We had to pick five colors and write about them.
Green
Green was first love.
It was the grass under their feet after kicking off their shoes. Billy laughed when the blades tickled his toes.
Their footprints made tracks in the dew. Dom’s nervous breathing slightly visible in the cold, morning air. Billy had pushed him up against a tree, kissing him like he’d been wanting to for such a long time.
Prosthetics didn’t stick so good on grassy, wet feet and the make-up girls were rather angry. Billy and Dom kept sneaking glances at each other in the mirror.
New Zealand was always green. Everything fresh and clean, just like Dom had been for Billy at first. He had moved quickly, afraid to lose something before they’d even started.
Dom was always too eager.
Green meant happiness.
Grey
Grey were the days they spent running away from clouds. A murky sky and a steady drizzle left them soaking wet and shivering as they stood near the newly lit fire.
Clothes hit the floor with soggy thuds, Dom’s thick wool jumper leaking moisture onto the carpet.
Grey filled Dom’s eyes. The light from the flames bringing out hidden stars in them. This grey warmed Billy from the inside out.
A lazy day in bed, learning new secrets while staring into those eyes.
They didn’t have to talk.
Grey meant intimacy.
Blue
Blue sky was reflected in the ocean.
The water was warm, enveloping and, oh, so welcoming. It had held them together. Salt spray and waves, Billy remembered, were the things they thrived on.
Sun-kissed skin and slick, tight wetsuits…there were so many memories.
Now, an ocean was what kept them apart and Billy dreamt of drowning.
Blue meant separation.
Black
Black had been those starless nights when they’d stumble home from the pub and fall into bed together. Frantic and rough.
Those memories are slightly more distant because darkness is everywhere and Dom’s velvety, soft voice is in his ear
The leather was black. Billy can remember that. Worn and tight around slender wrists.
Dom had strained against them, hard enough to leave marks and Billy had kissed every single one.
Nevertheless, bruises appeared.
Black meant pain.
White
White was the plane that took his Dommie away from him.
It was the flashes in his eyes as he walked a red carpet, someone different by his side. No more DomandBilly.
White was new and exciting, if only for awhile. But it also meant strained conversations and all sorts of questions.
And one morning Billy woke up and had his morning cuppa in front of the window watching white streaks of sunlight through the glass…and made a decision.
Billy pulled a strikingly, blank piece of paper from the desk drawer. Trying to compose a note to Ali, he wondered how to tell someone you’ve never loved, ‘goodbye.’
White meant another chance.
