Billy sits quietly on the edge of Dom’s settee and watches him as he carefully paints his pinkie finger ebony black. He watches as the polish glistens bright – wet in the sunlight. Billy thinks that Dom’s painted hands are beautiful. Billy is in love with Dom’s hands.
“Why’d you do that?”
“What?” Dom asks, “Paint my nails?” Billy nods quickly in response.
“Because it’s cool mate, why else?”
“It looks really good on you.” Billy mumbles as he brushes a hand across his face, nail varnish fumes irritating his green eyes.
Dom looks up at Billy, and gauges his reaction.
“You want me to put some on you?”
Billy’s eyes widen, “No.” He says, shying away. “It won’t look as good as it does on you”
“C’mon…” Dom urges. “Don’t be stupid. It’ll look great on you.”
Billy thinks it would never look as good on him as it does on Dom but submits willingly, letting Dom settle Billy’s hand on his thigh, steadying his wrist so he can begin to paint his nails.
He unscrews the lid on a crimson coloured bottle and looks up at Billy.
“Red?” Billy flinches.
“Yeah. It kinda contrasts with your eyes. Very fucking pretty.”
Billy relaxes and holds his breath as Dom slides the brush over his thumbnail, a sharp red line streaking boldly across it.
“Mmm…” Dom utters, “Very, very nice”
Billy looks down and watches the colour being spread rapidly across his right hand, delighting in the violent red shade on white skin. Dom strokes his wrist and moves it out of the way reaching across for Billy’s left hand.
When Billy’s palm is settled comfortably against the cloth of Dom’s jeans he reaches out and begins to coat each nail quickly with red liquid.
When completed Billy looks down and grins widely, lifting his hands up towards his face to get a proper look. Dom snags his friend’s wrist and raises it to his lips, planting a soft kiss against the surface of Billy’s skin before reaching down to do the same with his left hand.
“Mmm…” Dom murmurs into Billy’s flesh. “See. I told you that you’d look pretty”
“I’m pretty?” Billy flusters, “I mean, you, you think I’m pretty?”
“Billy…” Dom raises his head to look him squarely in his eyes. “You’ve always been pretty to me. Always.”
Dom leans forward and presses a light kiss against Billy’s lips.
“And not just pretty Billy. Gorgeous.” Dom whispers, brushing his lips across Billy’s hand again before leaning in to kiss him properly, the first of many such kisses. Billy grins broadly and returns the kiss.
Billy and Dom, he thinks, the prettiest, sexiest, gorgeous-test couple ever.
