Treasure Hunt
RPS: Dominic Monaghan/Billy Boyd
I'm giving it a PG-13 for a wee bit of bad language (I blame my common background)
Summary: Billy gets an interesting package in the post prompting a mad dash to find Dom.
Disclaimer: I really don't know these people. And while I would like to think they are busy organising treasure hunts for each other this is all the work of my rather twisted mind!
Notes: Comments/ constructive crit would be welcome. Go easy though I'm a little frightened...

Treasure Hunt: Part One
The last thing Billy wants to do is take part in some random treasure hunt. The possibility of a prize changes all of this…

On the first morning of the treasure hunt Billy received an A-Z and a key with the number 41513 on it. Idly flicking through the pages his eye caught the post-it carefully placed on page 22. Reaching for his mobile (still warily staring at the message written on the said post-it) he hit the speed dial. ‘My journey begins here?’ he asked amusedly. He should have been suspicious the moment Dom even picked up the phone, what time was it over there again? ‘Oh yeah.. it came this morning then?’ was the yawned reply. (Obviously not mid morning then) ‘And where exactly will my ‘’journey’’ be taking me?’ Billy enquired.
‘Bills. It’s a treasure hunt. You’ll just have to follow the clues.’ Dom answered mischievously.
‘The clues? As in a number of clues? How many of these things are there?!’ Beginning to get a little agitated Billy got up and started wandering around the house. If there was another of these clue-thingys here he’d find it and put an end to the games…

‘Bill. Billy. Billy. BILLS’ Picking the abandoned phone up from the kitchen unit Billy opened a nearby cupboard, ‘Oh yeah, sorry.’
‘What’y doing?’
‘Looking for more clues.’ Nothing in the kitchen, he thought… now if he were Dom where exactly would he hide clues… Walking back into the living room the bedroom door was still wide open. Hmmm.

‘Billy have you ever actually taken part in a treasure hunt before?’ Dom asked (obviously clocking on to Billy’s scheme.) ‘What kind of question is that?! Of course I’ve taken part in a treasure hunt, what kind of idiot do you think I am?’ There was nothing obvious in the bedroom but if Dom had been planning this for a while then he would have to hide them in a place Billy was unlikely to look. His eye caught a stray sock half under the bed.
‘Well indulge me for a moment while I explain the rules of the game to, oh I don’t know, whoever is listening in on this call.’ Dom was beginning to sound a little sarcastic. ‘A treasure hunt starts with a map and a clue. The person seeking the treasure then follows the map to get to the next clue. Understand?’
Billy crawled out from under the bed feeling slightly stupid, ‘Oh. I knew that.’
‘I know you did.’ Dom replied soothingly, ‘ So what is your clue?’

Walking back into the living room Billy leafed through the A-Z coming to a stop when he found the post-it. ‘Well I’ve got this post-it and…’ Peering at the map he realised a section of road underneath it was circled, a yellow highlighted path leading in one direction away from it. ‘…and I can see my house and so this road…’ he turned over the page ‘… Dom this road leads to the airport.’
‘Oh right,’ Came the amused reply, Dom was clearly enjoying every second of this. ‘Wonder if you’re going on a plane?’

‘What if I don’t want to take part in this little game of yours?’ Billy threatened.
‘Ah well you’ve evidently forgotten the most important part of the treasure hunt.’ Dom said teasingly, ‘There is only one reason why a person takes part in this sort of adventure. The treasure. You know, the prize at the end of the clues?’
‘So there’s a prize?’ Billy asked the hunt had suddenly begun to look very appealing.
‘Oh yes. There’s a prize.’

Chucking some clothes in a bag Billy slammed the door. Dom’s murmured reply had said it all. Follow the clues. Get the reward. There was no way he was going to miss out on a prize.

Pulling into the airport he hastily shoved some cash at the driver and, hand still clutching the mysterious key, headed through the doors. Frantically trying to avoid the hundreds of people scurrying around with bag-laden trolleys Billy searched for the help desk. ‘Hi, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction…’ The harassed looking assistant glanced at the key Billy was waving in front of her face and pointed lazily to a quieter corridor. ‘Just to your left sir.’

The corridor was filled with small lockers, but it didn’t take long to find box 41513. Cautiously opening the door (God knows what the next clue might be!) Billy was slightly disappointed to find a smallish jiffy bag with his name written on it. Tearing it open a Polaroid fell to the floor, stooping to pick it up he began to read the accompanying letter:

‘Congratulations on solving the first clue brave adventurer!
But be warned: those without courage should turn back.
This quest is not for the fainthearted.’

Turning the photograph over he found a close-up of what could only be Dom’s hand (leather cuffs and all) with the code AA52 written on it in black ink. The phrase ‘Just a single will do it’ had been hastily scribbled on the bottom of the picture. ‘What the fuck’ Billy was just about to phone Dom for help when the airport PA system sounded. Checking the code again he searched for one of the information screens. AA52… Flight AA52… Chicago? Shaking his head slightly Billy joined what he hoped was the shortest queue... Chicago.
