Epilogue - And they all lived . . .
Scanning the lab reports in front of him, Billy smiles at the marked improvement and then looks up to meet his patient’s questioning gaze.
“Your strength is up another six percent, and I can’t see any evidence of swelling around the spinal column,” he announces, his tone rather pleased. “But the more important question is, the one that really matters, how do you feel?” Billy inquires.
“Like I’m ten years younger,” David replies with a smile. “Thanks to you.”
“Oh, I’m not so sure I deserve all the credit,” Billy protests, shaking his head.
“Don’t even go there with me, Billy. Every other doctor I saw told me that I had to have invasive back surgery and take a year off, but here I am, better than ever, and no surgical scars,” David fires back. “The credit for that, definitely goes to you.”
“Well, thank you,” Billy says, finally relenting. “You’re just as responsible, though. You listened, you were determined, and you did the work required.”
“And it was more than worth it.”
“Congratulations on Saturday’s match, by the way,” Billy adds. “It was a great victory.”
“You watched it?” David asks, raising his blonde eyebrows in surprise.
“Football is a very popular sport at the Boyd-Monaghan house,” Billy replies with a smile, laughing lightly. “We never miss a match that you play in.”
“Speaking of, I’ve got some tickets for the next match,” David says. “Do you want them?”
“I’m chief of staff. I can’t accept gifts from patients,” Billy explains regretfully. “But thank you. It’s a nice gesture.”
“I’ll give them to Dom, then,” David decides with a firm nod. “Giving tickets to my best mate isn’t against the rules, is it?”
Throwing back his head, Billy laughs. “I can certainly see why you two are friends.”
At David’s questioning look, Billy elaborates. “That’s pretty much how Dom convinced me to keep the piano he gave me for Christmas. Stubborn bastard.”
“Oh, you can’t help but love Dom,” David comments. “There’s just something about him. He’s irresistible.”
“Believe me, I know,” Billy replies softly, and then directs his attention back to the lab reports for a few moments to ensure that they’ve covered everything.
“Anything else?” David asks when Billy closes the file.
“How do you like the new coach?” Billy inquires, inordinately pleased that Ian Holm’s contract was not renewed at the end of last season.
“He’s really great. Injuries are down, morale is up,” David reports with a smile. “I look forward to going to the practice field every day. I still miss not seeing Dom there, but it’s good.”
“I’m very glad to hear it,” Billy replies. “Now, about you-”
“Yeah?”
“I want you to continue with the strengthening exercises and stretching that we’ve been working on, to keep the momentum going,” Billy instructs. “Don’t push yourself too hard, though. You don’t want to overdo it and strain anything.”
“Okay.”
“And after a practice or a workout, a massage wouldn’t be a bad idea either,” Billy adds, his brow furrowing on concentration. “Can you manage that, perhaps?”
“I think so,” David replies thoughtfully. “Most of the time.”
“Well, I’m sure if the team physio’s are too busy, Orli would be more than happy to fill in,” Billy adds mildly, enjoying the sudden flush in David’s cheeks immensely.
“How did you-”
“Orli’s our next door neighbor, David,” Billy interrupts with an amused grin. “And thanks to Dom, we know what kind of car you drive.”
Billy and Cameron had still been in the process of packing up and moving their belongings into Dom’s house when the Estate Agent had contacted Billy, informing him that someone had already made an offer on the new listing. Nothing could’ve surprised Billy more than to discover that it was his collegue who wanted to purchase the house, and likewise for Orlando that it was Billy’s house he’d taken an interest in. It was a happy coincidence that both men laughed about, and then quickly came to an agreement on price, as both were comfortable living next door to each other as well as working together. Dom of course, was very pleased, as it meant that Billy was sure that they were making the right decision.
“Right. Of course.”
“You two look good together, by the way,” Billy says softly, happy for both men. “Dom says he’s never seen you like this before.”
“Really?” David asks, finally meeting Billy’s eyes again.
“Yes. And I’m glad that Orli has someone who obviously cares for him a great deal,” Billy says with a smile. “He’s quite a catch.”
“Thank you, Billy,” David replies sincerely. “For everything, I mean. I couldn’t have made it through this without you.”
“My pleasure. Now go see Orli. I’ll bet he’s pacing or lurking by the lounge, waiting for you,” Billy finishes, laughing.
Opening the door and looking down the hall, Billy swallows a chuckle and grins widely. “C’mon in, Orli. We’re all done.”
Entering the room, the British doctor shoots Billy a sharp look.
“I don’t lurk,” Orlando says with a pout, then looks to David in concern. “Everything okay?”
“Perfect,” David replies softly, reaching out and beckoning him closer until his fingers wrap around Orlando’s slender hand to hold him firmly. “Everything’s just perfect.”
“Well, I’m done for the day,” Billy announces as he watches his friend be tugged insistently into David’s arms. “Orli, do you mind closing up? I want to go, try to catch the end of Cameron’s football practice.”
“Sure,” Orlando replies absently, tilting his head back and exposing his throat when David cards his fingers through his dark, silky curls. “No problem.”
As Billy starts to close the exam room door behind him, he pauses for a moment to watch David and Orlando’s lips meet in a hungry, searing kiss, their hands roaming eagerly, and he grins widely. When Orlando’s mouth falls open and he whimpers softly as the sound of a zipper sliding down fills the air, Billy closes the door, leaving the lovers in private. Moving briskly, Billy heads back to his office, quickly shedding his lab coat and grabbing his briefcase before leaving the clinic. Glancing at his watch as he backs out of his parking space, Billy realizes he should get there in time to watch at least half of Cameron’s practice, not to mention flirt with his son’s sexy coach.
* ^ * ^ * ^ * ^ *
It’s the joyful sound of children playing that pulls Billy towards the grassy field, the afternoon sun warming his shoulders and giving him a golden halo. Scanning the group of running children chasing a football, Billy smiles when he spots the familiar ‘7’ on the back of of his son’s jersey. When he’d joined the team, Cameron had requested the number specifically, because it was Dom’s number when he played for both Manchester United and Rangers. Inordinately touched by the boy’s gesture, Dom had pulled Cameron into his arms for a tight hug, only strengthening their close bond.
Cheeks flushed with exertion and happiness, Cameron travels quickly down the pitch, deep green eyes darting around until he finds the object of his searching. Honey blonde hair caught up in two bouncing pigtails, a girl with striking blue eyes ducks past another player and accepts the ball that Cameron passes to her. A moment later, she kicks it to another teammate, and then a goal is scored.
Watching the young girl intently, Billy recalls how different she looked, even as little as a year ago. Back then, Aislinn, too thin, face pale with dark circles under her listless eyes, looked more like an old woman, than her barely six years. It was a painful hip injury that brought Aislinn to Billy at the clinic, shortly after she’d been removed from her parents. Obsessed with the idea that their child could grow up to be a world champion gymnast, from the time Aislinn could walk, they had implemented a training schedule that an adult couldn’t survive, let alone a child. The result was a broken and withdrawn little girl who resisted any type of physical contact or affection, as she silently endured tremendous pain.
Insisting on donating his services, Billy spent the next month and a half gaining Aislinn’s trust, while tenderly caring for her underweight and ravaged body. While treating her, under the watchful eye of the social worker, Billy spoke of Cameron, and how much fun sports could be, that it didn’t have to to mean pain. Truthfully, there were parts of her that reminded Billy of Dom, and Coach Holm’s brutal, not to mention unnecessary tactics. It was Billy who told Aislinn how beautiful her name was, and that in Gaelic, his native language, it means ‘dream.’ In the end, Aislinn’s breakthrough had come from an unlikely source, one might say, a simple twist of fate.
During a particularly hectic day, Billy had run behind on his patient load, and while sitting in the waiting room with her social worker, Aislinn made a new friend. It turned out that Dom and Cameron had dropped by to take Billy to lunch, and Cameron struck up a conversation with the girl, and in turn the social worker, who just happened to to be a Rangers fan. By the time Billy was ready to see Aislinn, plans had been made for all of them to go out together for lunch.
And that was just the beginning.
Thanks to an influential call, that was eventually traced back to Dr. McKellan, within two weeks an emergency order had been issued, and Aislinn had a new home, with a new family. Initially concerned that she would feel uncomfortable, being the only female in the house, Billy and Dom quickly discovered that the blonde cherub fit into their family like the missing piece of a puzzle they’d been searching for.
While Merry had kept some distance at first, wary of the unfamiliar child, Griffin had followed Cameron’s lead, and when Dom and Billy tucked Aislinn into her new bed that first night, her small arm was curled possessively around Griffin’s warm, chocolate body, her small nose buried in his neck. It would seem that it was love at first sight for both of them.
Months passed with several home visits by a social worker, endless nerve-wracking nights and meetings with lawyers, and then last month, the adoption was finally complete. Aislinn had a new family. She was their daughter, and Cameron’s little sister. Their family was, at last, complete.
Thanks to the flexible schedule at his coaching job, Dom was able to spend countless hours with Aislinn, getting to know her, lavishing her with the attention and love she deserved, and the result of that was remarkable. A little girl who never smiled, began to blossom, thriving in the joy of the simple pleasures she was discovering, more and more each day. It was Aislinn who asked if Dom would teach her to how to play football, and of course, Dom had obliged, unable to deny the blonde ‘Munchkin’, as he affectionately called her, absolutely anything.
With wisdom beyond his years, there was never so much as a spark of jealousy from Cameron. Instead, he had welcomed Aislinn with open arms, literally, and had quickly taken on the role of her protective and caring older brother. There was never any fighting between them, the house more often that not filled with more laughter, joy and love than Billy had ever hoped for.
Just one year after Aislinn entered their lives, the frightened and lost child is gone, and a vibrant, beautiful little girl has taken her place, much to the relief of her new, loving family. Watching Aislinn with pride and awe, Billy smiles widely and waves when she looks over and spots him on the sidelines. The second a whistle is blown for them to take a break, Aislinn’s racing across the pitch towards Billy. When she draws near, Billy opens his arms and envelops her in his embrace, cradling her tenderly to his chest.
“How’s my baby girl?” Billy asks warmly before kissing her rosy cheek, loving the sensation of the small arms wrapped around him. “Did you have a good day?”
“Daddy and I went shopping,” Aislinn announces proudly, leaning back in Billy’s arms with absolute trust, to show him her new shirt. “See?”
“It’s beautiful on you,” Billy replies, remembering the very first time that she’d called Dom that, nearly three months ago now, and how moved they’d both been by the sweet girl who’d stolen their hearts.
“Daddy said you love this color,” she continues, a small hand with bubble gum pink varnished fingernails smoothing down the rumpled cotton. “But you never wear it.”
“I love how it looks on Daddy, and you, for that matter,” Billy explains, picking a blade of grass off her shoulder after shifting her to one hip. “The blue matches your eyes perfectly.”
“That’s what Daddy said, too.”
Seeing the little girl suddenly fall silent, Billy carefully sets Aislinn down on her pink-sneaker clad feet and kneels before her.
“Are you alright, baby girl?” he asks gently, brow furrowing in concern. “Does your leg hurt?”
“No, you fixed it,” Aislinn replies shyly as she shakes her head. “It’s all better now. Honest.”
“Then what’s wrong?” Billy prompts gently.
“Would it be okay if I called you Daddy, too?” she asks tentatively. “Like Cam does?”
Stunned into silence, Billy can only stare into Aislinn’s expressive eyes, once again reminded of just how much she resembles Dom, the love of his life. If he didn’t know any better, Billy would think they were actual father and daughter, as Aislinn has taken on a remarkable amount of Dom’s mannerisms and traits, thanks to the copious amounts of time they spend together.
“I asked Daddy if he’d mind, and he said that he thought it was a great idea,” she adds, gnawing on her lower lip for a moment.
“Baby girl, I would be honored for you to call me Daddy,” Billy says finally, holding her small hands in his and gazing deeply into her eyes. “I love you, so much.”
“I love you, too . . . Daddy.”
Throwing herself into Billy’s arms for a second time, Aislinn clings to him tightly until the whistle sounds, informing her that it’s time to return to the match.
“Go play,” Billy says fondly as he kisses her cheek and then releases her. “I’ll be here, watching.”
“Okay. Bye Daddy,” she replies with a wide smile before turning and then running off to rejoin the group of children.
Looking around the sidelines, Billy spots the coach and quickly makes his way over to him, his breath quickening and heat pooling, low in his belly. Approaching from behind, Billy slips his arms around a slender waist and draws their bodies close as he places a warm kiss to the back of a tanned neck.
“You’re early,” Dom says with a smile as he turns in Billy’s arms. “Hey you.”
“Hello,” Billy replies and then cups Dom cheek, guiding their mouths together for a soft, prolonged kiss, with just a teasing of tongue, much like Dom had awoken him this very morning.
Fingers stroking the nape of Dom’s neck as they kiss, Billy’s mind is flooded with memories of the tender lovemaking that followed, and the too quick shower they shared before waking the children and starting their day. With few rare exceptions, it’s their way of starting each day together, never taking their love for granted, and cherishing one another at every opportunity.
“How was your day?” Dom inquires when they part, turning back around and refocusing his attention on the football match, but keeping Billy’s arm wrapped snugly around his waist.
“Great,” Billy replies. “David said to say hello to you.”
“Oh yeah. He mentioned that he had an appointment with you this week,” Dom recalls.
“He was my last patient of the day,” Billy adds.
“What? Why didn’t you invite him to join us here?” Dom asks. “I haven’t seen him in forever.”
“Well, I would have, Dommie, but he was kind of busy when I left,” Billy explains with a laugh. “With a certain doctor with dark, curly hair.”
Dom breaks out into a wide grin as he glances over his shoulder at Billy. “Orli?”
“They didn’t even wait for me to leave the room before they were all over each other,” Billy reveals. “I bet they were naked and shagging before I pulled out of the car park.”
Laughing, Dom leans back, snuggling into Billy’s embrace. “Good to know.”
“Dom-”
“Hey, after all the piss taking he did about you and me, Daisy deserves a bit of pay back,” Dom says protestingly.
“A bit,” Billy agrees.
Both focusing on the children in front of them, Dom takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly as he laces the fingers of one hand with Billy’s.
“So did she talk to you?” Dom asks quietly, tipping his head to one side, causing their hair to touch.
“What?”
Caught up in watching Cameron evade an opposing player and drive the football down field, Billy doesn’t hear all of Dom’s question.
“Munchkin,” Dom replies. “Did she talk to you?”
“Yeah,” Billy sighs, a smile turning up the corners of his cherubic mouth. “I’ll need to sit down with Cameron tonight. Make sure that he’ll be okay with it.”
“No need,” Dom says mildly, turning his head and kissing Billy’s cheek. “It was his idea.”
“What?” Billy gasps in surprise.
“Cam’s not worried about you loving her more than him, Bills,” Dom explains. “He knows that you two have a bond that you would die for, rather than jeopardize it. This morning, after breakfast, Cam asked me if I would be hurt if Munchkin called us both ‘Daddy.’ Once I assured him that I was more than fine with it, Cam asked her if that was what she wanted, and told her that he would love to share you with her.”
“Cameron said that?” Billy whispers.
“I was close by and heard the whole thing,” Dom confirms. “And I wished you were there with me, because it was so beautiful.”
Burying his face in the curve of Dom’s neck for a moment, Billy tightens his hold around his lover’s waist, overwhelmed with happiness.
“Great kid you’ve got there, Bills,” Dom adds softly, tilting his head and rubbing his cheek against Billy’s ginger hair. “The best.”
“Our kid,” Billy replies, lifting his head, breath warm against Dom’s ear. “I told you before, Dommie. He’s ours. Cameron thinks of you as his father, too. He loves you.”
“Right,” Dom says with a nod. “Ours.”
Glancing at his watch, Dom lifts a whistle to his lips, blows three short bursts and then taps his wrist, signaling the end of the practice. Parents are beginning to arrive to pick up their children, and the sun is moving lower in the sky. Grabbing a mesh bag sitting on the sidelines, Cameron begins collecting equipment, with Aislinn right behind him, offering her help. In a matter of minutes, everything is cleaned up for the day, the other children are gone, and then Aislinn is running over to Dom and Billy, squealing with laughter as Dom scoops her up in his arms and blows a raspberry on her neck.
“Daddy!” she giggles, wriggling as she snuggles closer.
“Are you ready to go home, Munchkin?” Dom asks, using his pet name for her, knowing how much she loves it.
Eagerly, Aislinn nods, then settles into Dom’s strong embrace, laying her head on his shoulder, the ease with the familiar position clear in her eyes. With the mesh bag of footballs slung over his shoulder, Cameron joins the group, smiling when Billy reaches out, ruffles his hair and then pulls him close for a hug.
“Hey Dad,” Cameron says, dropping the bag to the grass before returning his dad’s affection.
“Hi Cobby,” Billy replies fondly. “You looked great out there. Nice assist with that goal.”
“Thanks. Linnie and I did it together,” the boy says with a proud smile. “She’s getting really good.”
“So, who wants pizza?” Dom asks as they turn towards the car park, Billy and Cameron sharing the weight of the mesh bag of footballs between them.
“Dom!” Billy admonishes as the children voice their excited approval. “It’s my night to cook.”
“I know, but I’m hungry, so I thought we’d go for something we know will be edible,” Dom fires back cheekily, causing both Cameron and Aislinn to laugh.
“Wanker,” Billy grumbles under his breath, only to break out into a smile a moment later.
“You love me,” Dom replies unrepentantly, his eyes shining.
“Aye, I do,” Billy replies as they share a long, intimate look.
“David was right,” Cameron comments as he rolls his eyes. “You two are like rabbits.”
Blushing a deep crimson, Billy’s eyes widen with shock at his nine year old son’s words.
“I’m sure we can arrange for you to have dinner and spend the evening in your room so you don’t have to watch us,” Dom drawls as he meets Cameron’s gaze. “Then, after your sister goes to bed, your Dad and I would have the kitchen table to ourselves.”
Knowing exactly what Dom is referring to, Billy nearly chokes as they arrive at their vehicles, parked side by side.
Shortly before Aislinn had joined them as the newest member of the family, Dom had insisted on trading in his Porsche, replacing it with a more family-friendly Renault Clio. It had initially worried Billy that Dom was giving up something that he loved and would later regret it, but Dom promised that it was fine, even though the Porsche held good memories, because of how they met. Kissing Billy’s cheek as they lay curled up in bed together one night, utterly spent from several rounds of lovemaking, Dom had explained that the only reason he had bought the Porsche in the first place was in an attempt to keep up the image he’d been faking, and that it was a relief to finally be rid of it.
“Dom-” Billy says in a low, warning voice, unable to keep the huskiness and desire out of it completely. “Cobby, where did you hear that?”
Shrugging noncommittally, Cameron waits for Dom to open the boot of the Renault, and then sets the bag of footballs inside. “I’m not deaf, Dad, or blind, for that matter. And besides, David and Dr. Bloom didn’t know I could hear them. They didn’t mean anything bad-”
“Orli,” Billy interrupts, his eyes narrowing. “Oh, he’s going to pay for that.”
Grinning, Don leans over and places a fast, warm kiss on Billy’s cheek before turning and lowering Aislinn to the ground so she can climb into the passenger seat of his car. Wordlessly, Dom then steps into the circle of Billy’s arms, bringing their lips together for a slow, tender exchange that causes butterflies to flutter madly in Billy’s stomach.
“Personally, I think Cam figured it out long before he overheard their comments, but if you want, I’ll talk to Daisy,” Dom says softly when they finally part.
“I think you may be right,” Billy concedes. “But I’m still going to remind Orli tomorrow that there are young ears listening, and that he should be more careful.”
“Sounds fair.”
“Go pick up the pizza, Dommie,” Billy replies in a low voice, resisting the urge to pull Dom back into his arms. “We’ll meet you at home.”
“Such a smart man, you are, Dr. Boyd,” Dom teases with a wide smile. “See you soon.”
“I’ll be waiting,” Billy says in a hushed voice. “In the kitchen.”
Smirking, his eyes twinkling, Billy slips into the driver’s seat of his Mini before Dom can drag him back in for another kiss, knowing that his teasing words will ensure that they’ll be back together as soon as possible.
* ^ * ^ * ^ * ^ *
Closing Aislinn’s bedroom door until it’s barely open a crack, Dom turns and smiles at Billy, sighing with content. Pizza has been consumed, a movie watched, teeth brushed and faces washed. Now Cameron and Aislinn are tucked into their beds for the night, and it’s time for the lovers to enjoy some private time.
“Can you believe that this is really our life?” Dom asks softly as Billy slips an arm possessively around his waist and guides him down the long hall towards their bedroom. “That when you crossed the back garden that day, this is what was waiting for us?”
“I’m just as amazed as you are, Dommie,” Billy replies before bringing their mouths together for a long, nibbling kiss that weakens Dom’s knees. “I love our life.”
“Complications and all?” Dom asks, arching an eyebrow expectantly.
“Absolutely,” Billy says firmly, smiling as he kisses Dom’s tanned cheek. “Now about earlier. What you said, about the kitchen t-”
“They didn’t know what I meant,” Dom protests. “Cam saw us by the pool, not-”
“I knew what you meant,” Billy interrupts, tightening his arm around Dom’s waist and bringing their hips together firmly as he pulls them both to a stop in the doorway to their bedroom. “What is it with you and that table?”
“Excuse me?” Dom asks in disbelief as he leans against the door casing. “Don’t you remember that night? One second we’re standing there talking, and then we were naked, and we almost-”
“Of course I do, Dommie,” Billy replies, interrupting his lover, his cheeks pinking slightly. “But it’s not like we don’t have sex. I mean, this morning, for example . . .”
“We’ve never had sex on that table,” Dom argues, moaning softly at the sensation of Billy’s arousal pressing against his own through two layers of fabric. “Started to, on more than one occasion, might I add, but never finished.”
Realizing that Dom is right, Billy’s cheeks flame.
“Okay, so you might have a point there,” he admits reluctantly. “But-”
“No buts,” Dom insists. “We promised that we’d always tell each other what we wanted, out of this relationship, our professional lives, and most importantly, our personal lives.”
“Aye, we did,” Billy replies in agreement.
“So that’s what I want,” Dom states firmly. “You. Me. Finally christening that bloody kitchen table like I’ve wanted to since that first night.”
“Dommie, I’d love to to, but we can’t,” Billy says, visibly distressed. “The kids-”
“Not tonight, Bills,” Dom corrects. “I want to do it on a night where we don’t have to be quiet.”
Recalling the various weekends over the last year and a half where Cameron has been away on sleep overs at friend’s houses or having short visits with his mother in London, heat pools, low in Billy’s belly. Those glorious weekends are marathons of lovemaking, Dom and Billy relishing in the private time where they can make love wherever and whenever they please, indulging in fantasy and each others bodies.
“Let me make you a promise, then,” Billy says firmly, pulling Dom into the bedroom and closing the door behind them. “The next time they’re both away on sleepovers, we’ll start on the kitchen table.”
“And?” Dom prompts expectantly, fingers effortlessly peeling back Billy’s shirt and letting it flutter almost soundlessly to the floor as he greedily explores the newly revealed bare skin.
“We finish on the table,” Billy confirms, lapping and nibbling on the smooth, tanned column of Dom’s neck as his head tips back to give Billy greater access. “Until you beg me to stop.”
Releasing his hold on Billy’s belt, Dom turns in Billy’s arms and looks over at the bureau.
“What are you up to, love?” Billy murmurs, tugging Dom’s t-shirt over his head and then opening his blue jeans, letting them crumple in a heap on the floor at Dom’s ankles. “The lube is in the nightstand.”
“I know,” Dom replies absently, breath catching when Billy’s small, talented hand wraps snugly around his arousal, and warm, soft lips trail feathery kisses down his spine.
“Then what are you doing?” Billy presses, kicking off his own trousers and boxers and freeing Dom of his jeans before guiding the younger man over to the wide, comfortable bed.
“I’m looking for the school directory. The one with the phone numbers of Cam’s friends,” Dom explains, scanning the room for the familiar booklet.
“Why?”
“Because I want to know if anyone is interested in a sleepover this weekend,” Dom says mischievously, eagerly rubbing his naked arse into Billy’s lap. “I’ve got a hot date.”
“Dominic Monaghan! You are insatiable,” Billy teases with a laugh, swallowing a groan before rubbing his arousal against the crease between Dom’s cheeks. “Don’t ever change.”
“I don’t plan to, Bills,” Dom replies as he gives up and turns, tumbling onto the bed with his lover, settling into the pillows and stretching out on his back with Billy above him.
Sliding between Dom’s widely parted thighs, Billy brings their mouths together in a long, hot kiss, drawing Dom’s lower lip between his lips and sucking gently. Whimpering softly, Dom threads his fingers through Billy’s ginger hair and wraps his long legs around Billy’s waist, eagerly rocking his hips, welcoming Billy to do more. After months of intimacy, all the times they’re shared their bodies, each time is still exciting, still holding something new to experience together. Every single day, they fall more in love.
“Dommie? I’ve been meaning to tell you something,” Billy says breathlessly when they finally part for some much needed oxygen.
“Oh?” Dom pants, eyes glazed with passion as he looks up into Billy’s gaze. “What’s that?”
“I wanted to say thank you,” Billy says warmly as the small palm of his hand slides down Dom’s side to cup his hip, caressing gently before his fingers slip between Dom’s cheeks to tease at his tight entrance.
“For what?” Dom asks, his brow furrowing, even as he gasps with pleasure at the erotic sensation. “What did I do?”
“For sharing your love of football with me, and our children,” Billy explains tenderly. “For promising yourself to me, sharing a life with me, and most of all, for showing me that love is a contact sport.”

I'm flattered and immensely touched by the comments and response this fic has gotten. I really have no words.
Yay for cuteness! Also, 7 ! I ♥ that.

This fic was absolutely amazing. Can I get a kid like Cameron? Seriously. Billy and Dom as just two (kind of) ordinary people is a wonderful image. I wish that it would be easier for guys to live family lives together... it's not something you ever see very often (especially where I live... *grumbles*). You portray Monaboyd so well, they don't lose their personalities just because they are different people. Thank God this had a happy ending. I of course expected it to, but you tricksy little devil, you never know do you. The fact that they have two kids and still love each other and have hot hot sex, is just great. We need to teach 99% of parents how to do this.
I'm so sad it's over, but it was just so mind-blowingly great that I'm just gonna read it again.
The image of Monaboyd Family... ahhhhh...... If you listen close you can listen to about every reader of this fic's ovaries explode, if they have them. Heeeeee!

Thank you so much. When I didn't see a comment from you yesterday for Chapter 16, I wondered if I'd lost you. Happy to know that I was just being paranoid.
I adore the idea of two people in love being happy together, raising a family, and having it not matter if it's a man and a woman, or a variation of that. To me, love is love. Who am I to judge what's considered normal? *giggle* Exploding ovaries. Ahhh, the love.
If you've read most of my fics, you know that it's rare for me not to write a happy ending. They do happen, just not that often.
Thank you so much. I'm very happy that you've enjoyed.
*joins you in the happy place*

I ♥ Aislinn. She's perfect for them, and now they all have what they wanted, and deserved.
Sequel? I don't have plans for it, but never say never. My Muse is constantly surprising me.
*hugs you*
