~*~*~*~*~
Waking and stretching lithely in Elijah’s bed, Emilie slid off the bed. Seeing one of Elijah’s t-shirts hanging across the back of a chair, she slipped out of the top of her baby dolls, and slid the t-shirt over her head. Thirsty, she padded softly down the hallway to the kitchen, pausing briefly to watch Elijah as he lay sleeping on the couch, wrapped up in his blanket like a moth in a cocoon. In the kitchen, she placed two mugs on the counter, and filled the kettle with water, before she stood leaning against the sink, watching the beach through the window.
Orlando, dressed only in David’s Australian flag satin boxers, rubbed his fingers through his hair, stumbling along the hallway, half asleep and in search of a cold drink, he frowned as he saw Lij’s cocoon on the sofa, his brows furrowed as he tried to remember why Lij was sleeping on the sofa.
Shrugging, he continued to the kitchen, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "Uh...hello?"
The blonde-haired girl at the sink turned around, her face breaking out in a large grin. "Oh my god! Orlando!" the girl squealed, launching herself at him. "I can't believe you're really here."
Orlando stood, shocked as he was squeezed tightly by the petite woman. "Excuse me," he said, trying to push her off him. "Who are you?"
Emilie loosened her grip on Orlando's waist, her blue eyes twinkling excitedly. She took his hand shaking it vigorously. "I'm Emilie, a friend of Liji's. I work with Dom on Lost. You can call me Em or Emi, all my friends do. Oh my god, you're so cute. I loved you in Calcium Kid. Does your back hurt? I can't believe you broke your back. Cute boxers, I didn't know you visited Australia. This is so cool." With that she paused for breath then hugged him again, her arms squeezing tightly around Orlando's waist.
Orlando broke out in a thin sweat, the horror stories of crazed fans that he had heard about coming back to haunt him. He closed his eyes praying for someone to come and save him.
Dom already on his way to the kitchen, heard Emilie’s voice, his face split in a wide grin as he walked into the room.
“Morning Miss Em,” he yawned. “Do me a favour and put the elf down; if you’re making a cuppa can I have one?”
“Hey, my Charlie boy.” She smiled releasing Orlando to hug Dom and place an affectionate kiss on his cheek. “How you feeling? Little bird told me you finally scored. It’s about time.” She continued as she hugged him and then moved back to the sink adding two more cups to the counter top.
While her attention was diverted, Dom grinned like a loon and shrugged his shoulders at the nervous Orlando, who looked set to flee in terror.
“What have you done to our elf Emi?” Dom asked bemused.
“Nothing.” She turned wide eyed and innocent “Just said good morning.”
“In your usual gushy, fangirl way I’m sure.” Dom raised one eyebrow. “And don’t try that innocent crap on me it doesn’t work remember.”
“Maybe, but he’s so cute and squishable, how could I not.” She smiled.
"It's okay, Orli," he said gently to his friend, "her kind are normally pretty harmless. Just have ear plugs handy. The screams are sometimes reminiscent of dog whistles."
Orlando smiled, albeit unconvincingly, and sat at the seat farthest away from Emilie. He watched as Emilie buzzed around the kitchen, his attempts at keeping up with her conversation failing miserably.
"Aye, good morning?" Billy said entering the kitchen. The gasp from Emilie caused Orlando to snort in amusement.
"Billy!" She rushed over to the unsuspecting Scot, forgetting about the whistling kettle on the stove. "Look at you and your pretty green eyes and your wee Scottish accent." She pinched Billy's cheeks, hugging him affectionately afterwards.
Grabbing Dom, Emilie pulled them both into her arms, Billy's eyes widening in fright. "The two of you are just so perfect together. I think I'm going to cry, I'm so happy."
Orlando choked back his laughter, watching as Billy paled noticeably. "This is Emilie, Bills," he said, relieved that she had moved on to someone else. "She's a friend of Dom and Lij's. I mean, Liji's."
“Liji?” Billy glanced at Dom who apparently thought this was all very amusing “Who the fuck is Liji?” he spoke rubbing his hands over his face in sleepy confusion.
“Emi.” Dom laughed “Unhand my boyfriend before he has a stroke.” He raised an eyebrow at her and painted on his sternest face “this would be why I don’t invite you over while my friends are here. For God’s sake Emi you met Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson and behaved like a sensible adult….You can’t do that with MY friends?” his stern voice was negated by the grin he couldn’t help as he finished speaking.
“But they’re just people, my Charlie Boy, your friends are hobbits and elves and kings.” She whispered behind her hand conspiratorially “That makes them special.”
“If we promise not to behave like Middle earthlings, can you keep the volume to a human level?” Billy smiled at her easy affection, watching as she hugged Dom tightly again.
"I'll try," she told him honestly, rushing to turn the stove off. "It's just so exciting meeting all of you, and at once. I can't believe it. I meet you and Orli this morning, last night Viggo walked in on Liji and me! This has been the best twelve hours of my life!"
"Viggo walked in on you and Liji?" Billy and Orlando asked simultaneously.
"Who's Liji? Who are you?" a sleepy eyed David asked upon entering the kitchen. Orlando groaned and Billy cringed as Emilie's eyes widened in delight.
"Here we go again," Orlando muttered watching as Emilie proceeded to greet David with her customary hug. Strangely, David seemed unaffected by her exuberance, even going as far as to hug her back.
"It must be an Australian thing," Billy whispered sitting down beside Orlando. The Brit nodded, his eyes still on the half-naked red head and the blonde who was talking animatedly with her hands.
"So what's this about our King walking in on you and, I'm assuming, Elijah?" Dom asked a smug smile on his face.
“Well, Liji and I were texting and then I snuck in, well not so much snuck as came in quietly through the front door, Liji met me outside in the cutest boxers. Anyway we were talking and well one thing led to another and you know we were well….we were….you know.” She blushed delicately knowing she had an audience.
“You weren’t?” Orlando murmured.
“Didn’t think Lij had it in him.” David grinned.
“Oh no he hasn’t. I mean we didn’t.” Emilie blushed as she realized what she had just said. “We weren’t doing that, it was something else, and Liji had just….well you know.” She smiled wistfully remembering “He must have been making too much noise ‘cos Viggo was worried about him.”
“I’ll bet he was.” Billy snickered.
“Morning Liji.” Emilie cooed as Elijah walked into the room scratching his fingers through his hair. She moved quickly to his side and wrapped her arms around him kissing him long and wetly uncaring of their audience.
"Ew, that's gross!"
"I think I'm going to need therapy!"
"Why do you have to flaunt your relationship in front of me, like that?"
"I'm gonna tell Viggo.’Viggoooo! Make them stoooooop!'"
The men in the kitchen teased the youngest hobbit relentlessly, dramatically covering their eyes and making small gagging sounds.
For a minute, Emilie's smile faded as she pulled back uncertainly. Her bottom lip caught between her teeth, and her hand shot to her hair, anxiously twirling a strand around her finger.
Discretion was never one of her stronger points, and she had been so excited to meet Elijah and the rest of the Rings cast that she hadn't thought of what his friends would think of her, of their relationship.
"Eff off you bloody wankers!" Elijah laughed, giving them all the finger.
Dom, noticing that Emilie's smile had yet to return, pulled her into a warm embrace. "Don't worry, Emi. We're only teasing. They love you, or will love you once they realize that you're not certifiably insane."
Elijah leaned in and kissed her, this time initiating rather than reciprocating.
“Well look at that.” Billy’s voice sounded “Our little hobbit has grown up.”
“And on that note there will be no more piss-taking” Viggo’s voice stated clearly. “I trust you have all acquainted yourself with Elijah’s new friend.
Emilie broke free of Elijah and moved to kneel in front of Viggo, her hands flat on her knees. “Good morning Viggo.” She smiled up at him.
"Me Lady," Viggo bowed, gesturing with a wave of his hand for her to stand up. She did, beaming, and pulled out a seat for him.
"Did you sleep well, my liege?" Emilie asked placing a kiss on Viggo's cheek.
"I did. I hope that you didn't find the bed too lonesome," he said, glancing over quickly at Elijah.
"To be honest, I would have rather slept in Liji's arms. But it's alright, there's always tonight. Tea?"
Viggo nodded then shot a look at Orlando who was failing in his attempt not to laugh. David sat down beside his lover, lightly tracing the long scar that marred Orlando's back.
"Help me, Liji?" Emilie asked, pulling Elijah to the stove.
"What the hell is going on?" she hissed quietly, her head bent.
"Huh?" Elijah looked back towards his friends only to have her tug at his arm.
"Don't look, silly. They’ll know that we're talking about them."
"What are we talking about?" Elijah rubbed his face, beginning to wonder about the young lady beside him.
"Why is Viggo just sitting there when Daisy's putting the moves on his man, right in front of him?" She glanced discretely at the table, her eyes widening when David kissed Orlando's back, his lips lingering for a moment.
"Who's man? Viggo's man?" Elijah reached for the coffee beans knowing that he'd need something stronger to keep up with Emilie all day.
"Yes, Orlando," Emilie stressed each syllable of the Brit's name. "David's all over him and Viggo's not doing a thi...oooh, are all three of them together? Cool."
“Three of them?” Elijah frowned “What?” he whispered “I love you an all Em but you are one weird girl.” He shook his head in abject confusion.
“You love me Liji.” She almost squealed dropping the spoon she was stirring with into the cup and threw her arms around his neck kissing him wetly, his tee shirt riding up to reveal the bottom of her baby doll jammies as she flung herself into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist.
Elijah propelled backwards into the cabinets kissed her back, his hands trailing gently down her back, oblivious to the bemused audience they now had. They watched as Emilie’s hands moved to frame Elijah’s face and as his hands moved back to grip the counter top in a white knuckled grip. Grinning Dom stood and moved to place his hands under Emilie’s arms and lifted her from a breathless Elijah to stand her on the ground.
“Honey if you kill him you won’t be able to play with him later.” He grinned at her before resuming his seat.
"Did she forget to take her medication?" Orlando asked.
Dom buffed an apple on his shirt, pointing his thumb behind him. "Who, Em? Nah. She's always like this. She'll calm down in a minute or two. I hope." He rested his head on Billy's shoulder and bit into the apple.
"I do think we have more pressing matters at hand, gentlemen," Viggo said, his focus on Dom and Billy, grins appearing on their faces.
"Pressing matters?" David and Orlando looked from Viggo to the couple beside them. "What's going on?"
"Dom and I are having an engagement party tonight," Billy said quietly, excitement evident in his voice.
Orlando's mouth opened, tears filling in the wells of his eyes. He hugged Billy, mumbling his congratulations in Billy's neck.
"Why are we congratulating Billy?" Elijah asked, setting the tray of mugs on the table, Emilie right by his side. "Sleeping with Dom isn't that big of an achievement."
Dom looked at Billy and then at the couple in front of him. "Actually, Em, if you promise to behave and not scream like a banshee, I have a favour to ask you."
Billy's eyes flew open and he pulled on Dom's t-shirt trying to get his attention. "No, Dom, don't. Please, I'm begging you, anything but that."
Dom patted Billy's arm reassuringly, a confident smile on his face. "Relax, Bills. It'll keep her focused and that's what we need. Otherwise, she'll be all 'whoooo' for the rest of the day."
“Em,” He spoke clearly “Put your mug down.”
“Why?” she frowned placing it on the table, her eyes narrowing as she watched David move it further away from her and Orlando actually stand and move to the opposite side of the room. “What’s going on?”
“Do you swear you’ll behave?” he asked “And treat my friends like people not middle earthlings?”
“For you my Charlie boy, you know I’ll try.” She nodded.
“You’ve promised Em, you get two minutes to pee your pants with your usual excitement and then you have to behave okay?”
She nodded quickly.
“Then,” he took a deep breath, his hand squeezing Billy’s tightly, knowing the reaction he was about to receive, “I wonder if tonight you’d consent to being our matron of honour of sorts.”
“Matron of honour?” she frowned then a slow smile spread across her face, her tiny feet drummed on the floor in excitement and she squealed loudly
“Ohmyfuckinggodyou’renotyoucantbe.” She watched Dom nodding
“Iloveyouguyssomuchyouarejustsoperfectandslashyourselvessowell.” One word blended into another as she jumped up and hugged Billy and Dom close to her.
“Emilie, take a breath.” Viggo almost laughed as he watched her squishing the three of them into a tight embrace.
“Elijah I think you should either save the hobbits or make your girlfriend breath again, one or the other.” David smirked.
Elijah hesitated, unsure of how exactly to proceed. He stepped cautiously towards her, his arm trembling slightly. In the corner of his eyes, he could see Orlando pressing back further into the wall, apprehension evident on his face.
"Em? Emilie," he called out to her, afraid of what might happen if he made any sudden movements. "Let's give the prospective grooms some oxygen, huh?"
He wrapped his arms around her tiny waist pulling her back. Unfortunately, she did not release her grip on Dom and Billy, pulling them with her.
"Em, let go!" Elijah grunted, yanking her away. She spun around and latched on to him, her body vibrating in happiness.
"This is so great. I'm going to cry. Look, I'm getting all teary eyed. I'm so happy," she rambled, squeezing Elijah tightly around the neck.
Stepping out of the embrace suddenly, Emilie's hands threw to her head. "Oh. My.God. You guys are getting engaged today! And you're still in the kitchen. Together! You're not supposed to see each other today. One of you has to leave. We can't jinx this. Liji, quick. We need to go shopping. What is again? Something old, new, borrowed, blue? We need a cake. And decorations." She paused looking at the men around her. "What are you all still doing here? Go!"
She pressed her hands against her hips as they all continued to sit there and look at her wide eyed.
“Viggo, you need to take Billy shopping.” She stated “Daisy, you’re now in charge of the cake.” She ticked off things in her head “Orli, I’ll give you a list: you need to contact the rest of Dom’s friends for me. Dom, you’re in charge of finding a caterer.”
“What are you and lover boy doing?” Dom asked with a smirk.
“We’re doing ambience.” She nodded “I’ve got just the thing.” She looked around the table at their blank faces “Decorations and entertainment gentlemen,” she sighed. “Philistines.”
“I think I resent that.” Daisy stated.
“C’mon you two one last gropey kiss and then you’re in separate locations for the whole day.” She grabbed Billy and Dom by their collars. “Move it people, we’ve got an engagement to organize.” She directed the others.
"You've all received your instructions for the day. I do, however, have some things that I need to take care of personally, so William will be helping David with the cake," Viggo stated. "Let's leave these two alone shall we?"
The kitchen cleared quickly leaving Dom and Billy standing, Billy's head resting on Dom's shoulder.
"She scares me, Dommeh. She really does. I'm afraid for our Lij," Billy giggled, pressing a kiss to Dom's neck.
Laughing, Dom brought Billy closer to him, grinding their hips slowly together. "He'll be fine. She's actually quite normal between 2 and 4 p.m."
Billy chuckled, sucking gently on the reddening skin. He slid his hands slowly underneath Dom's t-shirt, feeling small goose bumps form along the muscular back. He moaned quietly as Dom continued his slight hip rotations.
"Wouldn't get yourselves too excited," Emilie's voice said from around the corner. Billy jumped clutching his chest as her head poked out from behind the wall. "Remember, no more sex until *after* the engagement.* Then with a wink, she disappeared.
“She’s worse than a drill sergeant.” Billy muttered against Dom’s neck.
“But at least now she has a focus and she’s almost forgotten Rings.” Dom kissed along his neck, one hand sliding between them to cup Billy’s erection and rub it slowly.
“Almost,” he whispered arching into Dom’s hand. “Oh god yes, touch me Dom.”
“As hot as this is gentlemen.” Emilie spoke from the doorway, “I believe I said no sex. That includes hand jobs.” She informed them.
“God dammit Emilie, don’t you have any sense of privacy.” Dom sighed against Billy’s hair reluctantly removing his hand.
“Not when it comes to you two shagging on the kitchen table. That kinda takes the privacy issue out of the equation.”
“She does have a point Dom.” Billy spoke against his chest trying to catch his breath.
Dom pouted, pushing his lower lip out. "I don't want you to go. I won't make it through an entire day without seeing you. I'm still recovering, you can't leave me."
Though Billy knew that Dom was acting, part of him still panicked at Dom's words. What if Dom got some of his memory back while Billy was out? What if he remembered and changed his mind? "Maybe, I should stay. I don't feel comfortable leaving you alone all day."
"Oh, no you don't," exclaimed Emilie, coming up to stand beside them. "Don't use Dom's accident as an excuse to shag all day. He'll be fine. Now kiss and get moving."
Billy looked at her, waiting for her to leave, but instead she raised her eyebrow and placed her hands on her hips, foot tapping impatiently. With a loud sigh, he leaned forward, pressing his lips to Dom's.
Emilie smiled watching the two men lose themselves in each other. Once their lips met, they forgot about her and focused only on each other. She could almost feel the love flowing between them, turned lowered her head slightly, not wanting to intrude on this private moment. For her, sometimes kissing was more intimate than sex. Sex you could fake, but a good kiss, that you could never fake. And from the looks and sounds, Dom and Billy were enjoying an excellent snog.
"I love you," Billy whispered against Dom's lips.
"I love you, too," Dom said, not wanting to let his Scot go.
"And I love you both. Now let's go," Emilie interrupted, pushing her way in between them.
“It’s a good thing I love you too you crazy Australian or I’d be forced to do unspeakable things to you for coming between my better half and I” Dom pouted. “Get out of here both of you before I change my mind and demand my boyfriend’s presence.” He grinned at them, pulling Billy tight against Emilie’s back as he kissed him wetly over her shoulder.
“Boys.” She sighed feeling just how aroused they were as she was caught between them. “You can take care of your not so little problems tonight after the ceremony.” She stated blushing lightly as she extricated herself from between them. “Billy, Daisy is in the car waiting for you.”
Billy pressed his lips against Dom’s one final time before he smiled and jogged out the kitchen door with a loving kiss blown over his shoulder as he left.
Listening to him jogging along the side of the house Emilie turned glistening eyes on Dom. “I’m so happy for you Charlie boy.” She murmured “although I must confess that was a too much information moment from both of you.”
“You were the one that put yourself in there. You deserved everything you got.” He laughed
“Hey if I deserved that I must have been a very good girl in a past life.” She waggled her eyebrows at him. “Liji and I are going out now if you need anything just call us.”
“Yes mum.” He murmured as she walked across the room. “Hey Em?” he called after her. “Congratulations to you too.”
She stopped and turned to look at him, a blush evident on her angelic face, a sappy grin on her face. Blowing him a kiss, she ran down the hallway, and out the front door. Emilie was one of the first people that Dom had met on the Lost set, and she had quickly become one of his closest friends. True, she was hyper-active, and could squeal with the best of them, but she also had the biggest heart of gold that he had ever seen. If there was anyone he'd choose for Elijah, Emilie would be first on the list.

btw... is this based at all on how she is in real life? I don't think I've seen any interviews with her, so I don't know if she's the perky type, the quiet type, or whatever! *G*

before I repost my original feedback, please just let me say that this is what, to me, is the sign of a strong writer. Anyone can ask for good feedback. It's the writers that still want to hear from the readers about the aspects that don't work, that just impress the hell out of me. I wanted to thank you and rawiyaparand so *very* for your continued posting of MMoU. I like this story, I like the concept and I like the characterization. Please don't think that because I'm not a fan of one aspect of the story that it means that the rest isn't any good. That couldn't be further from the truth. I've enjoyed it and I'm very vested in seeing it to the end.
**original feedback accidently deleted**
I'm still enjoying this story overall, but there is one part that is very jarring to me. Please just take this is as constructive criticism and not a complaint. I'm finding it difficult to enjoy Emillie's character's story involvement. Her presence is so annoying that it pulls me from the story, because instead of sinking deeper into what's happening at the beach house, I find myself cringing at her behavior. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the het sex that's been introduced. That aspect would work just fine for me. I've even enjoyed reading other pairings, even though a Dave and Orli grouping is very new to me, it hasn't bothered me at all. What I dislike about Emillie so much, is that she doesn't take the actors as real people. They're elves, hobbits and kings to her. It almost sacrilegious for her to call Viggo, "liege". She wasn't on the set of RINGS, she hasn't earned that right. It's disconcerting to see some outsider use those specific names. I'd be just as put off if she called Orli "elf boy". Those names are synonymous with a very specific time in each of their lives, and to have them just tossed around by outside people, diminishes their import. At least for me. The second issue I have with this Emillie, is that she's just too much of a fan girl. I can't let myself go enough to believe that Elijah would be attracted for one minute to a girl that would tell Viggo that the best part of his movie, "Indian Runner" is when he showed his dick. I understand that there would have to be some contact between Emillie and Elijah in front of the other guys, just so they could give Elijah a taste of what he'd been giving them, about "oh my god, my eyes" type thing, but it seemed far fetched that she'd straddle him, legs around his waist, in front of these "Big Stars" (since she doesn't seem to see them as Dom's friends, but rather as "Ringers"). Even her name for Elijah, "Liji" annoys the fuck out of me. Dom's closing line of "If there was anyone he'd choose for Elijah, Emilie would be first on the list". is not enough to make me believe she's good for Elijah. She's not coming across as an endearing slightly hyper excited fan. She's coming across like superficial emo fangirl, and she's not likable.
I feel very awkward about leaving this feedback, because I wouldn't hurt your feelings for the world, but I wouldn't be honest if I just said things are groovy. It's important to me that people (writers) trust my feedback, and not just think I'll say everything is peachykeen if there's a part of a story that just isn't jiving with the rest of the plot. I'm constantly in awe of you brave writers that put yourselves out there for the world to see, and I admire your dedication to completing such a time consuming project, that you've obviously put so much of your heart and soul into. I'm sorry my perception of your character isn't what you might have wished for.
Sincerely,
Kerry
