Billy's shoulder was going numb, but he found himself unable to move it. The cause wasn't hard to determine. "Dom," He whispered, earning himself a glare from Elijah the Movie Watching Nazi. Dom was snoring into his shoulder, using Billy as a pillow. Billy felt slightly punished; they'd been the last to arrive, because Merry and Pippin's shooting ran late. All of the good seats had been taken by various hobbits and crew enjoying Elijah's generosity with his entertainment system setup and stereo speakers. "Get up."

"Nnph," Dom said, smushing his face into Billy's shoulder even more. "Ooommfffee."

"Dom, get up and go to bed," He whispered, voice even lower. "You're not watching the movie."

"Mooofffeee." Dom said again, and slung an arm over Billy's midsection. "M'wake."

"You are not." Billy said, more insistent. "And my hand's going numb. Get off."

Dom finally lifted his head a little and blinked, then scowled. "You're mean." He rolled over, his head hitting the carpet with a dull thud. "Ow."

Billy sighed, and got another glare for his trouble. He rolled over on his side, too, so his front was close to Dom's back, yet not quite touching. "Dom." He whispered.

"Shut up." Dom said, sounding not so sleepy anymore. His body was no longer relaxed, either.

"I didn't mean..." Billy laid his hand cautiously on Dom's hip. "I just needed to move my arm."

"No, 's ok, I'm going to bed anyway. Lij, mind if I crash in the guest bedroom?" Dom said, out loud, and sat up. Everyone looked at him for a minute, then slowly turned back to the movie, saying goodnight.

Billy tried to lay back down, not remotely sleepy himself, but something bothered him. He got up, and followed Dom to the bedroom. "Hey," He said, from the doorway. "You okay?"

Dom sat on the edge of the bed, his face in his hands. When he looked up at Billy, his eyes were bleary, tired. "Yeah. Just a long day."

"I know," Billy said, sympathetic. "Was for me, too."

"Yeah." Dom said, and lay yawned. "Your shoulder okay? Sorry about that."

"It's fine," Billy said, smiling faintly. "Pins and needles. I didn't mean you had to get up, though. Just thought you might fare better sleeping in a bed."

"Yeah. Probably right." Dom stood up, and took his pants off. He managed a cheeky grin, just for Billy's sake, and waved the denims in the air, before throwing them into the air. They landed halfway between Dom and Billy. Billy scooped them up and folded them, put them over the back of the chair. Dom watched him, sitting on the bed again. He was wearing boxers, a concession to the costuming department, who insisted that they didn't need to see his tadger on a daily basis, ta very much. They were plain and black, with a grey waistband. "You gonna go back and watch the movie, or come to bed?"

The oddness of that sentence jarred him, but Billy found himself not really wanting to go back. He'd seen the movie already, anyway. "Think I'll turn in."

"I'd call you an old man, but you'd probably just think of something worse to call me back, and I'm too sleepy to be intelligent." Dom said, lifting the covers up and crawling underneath them. Billy took his own trousers off and got in on the other, far side.

"Too sleepy, eh? Then what was your excuse this morning?" Billy rolled onto his side, away from Dom. "Fuck. Lights."

"I'll get them," Dom said, and the bed creaked and groaned as he got up again. Footsteps, and then the room clicked into darkness. "Better, sleeping beauty?"

"Get your eyes checked." Billy snorted. With the pillow firm but yielding underneath his head, sleep was suddenly so much closer. But there was something nagging at him, and he rolled over, onto his back. Dom was still a foot away, but on his stomach, his head turned to Billy. "You okay?"

"What do you mean?" Dom asked. Billy honestly couldn't tell if he was being evasive or not. "You already asked me that. 'm just sleepy."

"You seem off. Not just now, all day. All week. You okay?"

Dom shrugged, and turned his face a little. "Just sort of lonely, I guess. The first couple of months were a blast, but now it's settling down. We're into the filming and all, and it's a routine, not as hectic. I just miss my mates back home, and my family."

"Yeah..." Billy said, the sympathetic thing to respond with. "I guess it's the same for me, sort of. Probably the same for all of us. Except Sean, maybe, since he brought his family with him."

Dom made a noise of agreement. "It's more than that, though. I miss having someone to be close to, all the time. It's like... I sort of have that here, with you..." He hesitated. "And Sean and Elijah, but..."

"You mean dating someone?"

Even in the low light from the hall, Billy could see the words frustrating Dom as he tried to make them work together to say what he wanted to say. "Sort of. I mean, that's part of it, sure. Physical closeness. I could go to a pub here and pull, and that'd be nice, but just for the night. Meeting someone and building a relationship takes time, and I don't feel like putting time into that with someone else. I already found the best mate a man could find, ever, with you. How many times do you meet someone and right off get alone so well? I don't want to try and top that."

Billy felt something swelling inside of him. He wanted to turn over, and bury his face in his pillow so he could smile hard and not embarrass himself, or Dom. "Thank you. Means a lot, that. And it goes both ways."

"Oh, I know." Dom said, a touch of the exaggerated bravado back into his voice. "You'll never meet anyone like me, not for the rest of your life. In fifty years, you'll think back on me with wonder and amazement, and wish you'd thought to ask for my autograph."

Billy managed to sit up halfway and yank the spare pillow out from between them, fwapping Dom soundly on the head with it. Dom rolled to avoid the blow - rolled directly on top of Billy, who grunted and tried to shove him off. Dom made a face and stuck his tongue out, licking Billy on the chin. "Hellooo," He said, both of them laughing hard.

"You're nuts," Billy gasped, wriggling ineffectually beneath Dom. The laughter died away, but Dom didn't move. Instead, he put his head on Billy's chest, shifting his legs off of Billy's but staying close.

"You feel good. 's why I fell asleep earlier. Smell good, too. God, I feel like I haven't slept in a year." Dom lifted his head and gave Billy a cautious smile. Billy smiled back, and stuffed a sock in the mouth of the little warning voice in the back of his head. Dom looked young, and vulnerable, and his mouth looked very soft. Billy wanted to kiss Dom, and he could no more stop the slow motion descent of his lips to Dom's than he could stop breathing.

But he under-estimated the distance between them, and realised he couldn't reach Dom's mouth in their current position. Dom's expression changed as he realised what Billy'd been trying to do. "Oh," He said, almost a wordless acknowledgement, and he sat up. "Um. Want to try that again?"

"I don't know." Billy said. "Do you want me to?"

"I... guess." Dom said.

"Don't." Billy said. Dom looked even more confused. "Don't guess. This isn't really a guessing sort of thing. It's... ehm. Just forget it, all right? I don't want to do anything we'll regret tomorrow. Just... go to sleep, Dom." He gave him what he intended to be a reassuring smile, and rolled over, ready and more than willing to cover his head and forget the past five minutes ever happened.

No matter how busy his mind may have been, his body was to the brink of exhaustion. Sleep came, deep if not dreamless, and it was a welcome break to know that they had the next day off. Billy would have slept the whole night through probably, if not for Dom waking him up some time around 3 am.

"Billy," He heard, soft but insistent. "Wake up."

"What?" He tried to roll over, but was tangled in the sheets. He gave up and lay back down, turning his head to look at Dom. "Fuck. What?"

Dom kissed him, soft and damp, on the mouth. "Nothing. Just that." Dom rolled back over. Billy lay there for a second.

"Dom?"

"Hm?" Dom sounded half asleep already.

"You just kissed me?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"Cause. Earlier, I wasn't guessing. Really wanted you to kiss me. Just, you know. Nervous. And it was bothering me, I couldn't sleep." Dom said. He rolled over again, on his stomach, tangling the sheets between them even more. "You mind?"

Billy shook his head, not realising that it was dark and Dom couldn't see him until Dom said his name again. "No. I don't mind." He sat up and moved over, found Dom's face with his hands, then Dom's mouth with his own. It was a longer kiss, wetter. Billy's tongue touched Dom's bottom lip, then pushed better, tasting Dom's mouth. When he pulled away, Dom made a sound of protest. "There. Now I'm going back to sleep."

"Don't." Dom said. He touched Billy's shoulder, tried to pull him back. "Let's-"

"We can talk in the morning. I'm sleepy."

"Wasn't gonna say talk." Dom laughed, low and different than his normal, daytime laugh. He untangled the sheets from his legs and tucked himself into Billy's side. Billy shifted around, and finally put his arm around Dom. "I was gonna say, let's snog s'more. It's nice."

"It is." Billy said, and touched his mouth to Dom's again. "But if I keep snogging you, I'm going to want to do more. And I want to sleep." It was more candor than Billy would dare let slip any other time, but in the cocoon of darkness, it somehow seemed all right.

Dom seemed pleased, kissing Billy's arm and then laying his head on Billy's shoulder again. "Can I sleep like this?"

"Mm." Billy said. When he nodded, his chin brushed Dom's hair in a ticklish way. He smiled. He meant to add more right away, but he was distracted by the way Dom's hair smelled, and his mind wandered. He wasn't sure how much time passed before his finished his thought. "Yeah. Tomorrow we'll talk."

The only response he got was a light snore from Dom. Billy fumbled with the duvet and pulled it up around them, and fell asleep.
