5 - Mistake

Dom is sitting on couch, dejected and alone in the flat he shares with Mac, whinging to himself about not having seen Billy for months when Elijah arrives, insisting that they go out to some clubs. Flatly refusing to take no for an answer, Elijah literally drags Dom out the door after he changes into something appropriate and tousles his hair in a fun and chaotic jumble. Once they are at the club, however, it isn’t long until Dom’s dark mood begins to improve, thanks in no small part to the generous amounts of alcohol they are ingesting. When they aren’t tossing back rounds of drinks at the bar, they’re on the dance floor, writhing and gyrating playfully with anyone who wants to join them. The feeling is light and easy, Dom forgetting for a short while just how lonely it is in LA without Billy. Sean and Elijah are good hobbits, good friends, but they have their own lives, and there’s no good substitute for a lover. Nobody can replace Billy or his magical hands, especially when they’ve sliding over Dom’s bare skin.

Many hours and innumerable drinks later, Elijah and Dom stumble out of the taxi at the curb in front of Dom’s flat, hanging onto to one another and laughing. Elijah wraps an arm tightly around Dom’s slender waist in an attempt to keep him from falling flat on his face as Dom struggles to unlock and open the door. Almost falling through the entrance, Dom trips over a pair of his trainers, and his own clumsy feet, nearly tumbling head first into the nearest wall. Biting down on his lower lip to keep from giggling too loud, Elijah guides Dom down the hall to his room, hoping that they don’t awaken Mac in the process.

Once Dom is safely sprawled on his back on the unmade bed, Elijah ducks into the loo to find a bottle of Paracetamol he knows is in the medicine cabinet and a large glass of water. Considering all they’ve had to drink tonight, Dom significantly more than he, they’re going to need it, and then some. Drunk and vaguely protesting, Dom is pulled up to a sitting position to wash down the pills with some water, and as he falls back onto the mattress with a laugh, Lij swallows a few pills as well. It certainly can’t hurt.

Giving his head a shake to help clear the thick haze of alcohol a little, Elijah starts to weave towards the door, intending to stretch on the couch before he passes out. It’s Dom’s long, elegant fingers wrapping firmly around his wrist that make him pause. Gazing down at Dom, Elijah can’t help but be moved by the naked vulnerability and sadness that has returned to Dom’s lovely and expressive, blue-grey eyes. So often putting on a brave face in public, the truth of it is, Dom is actually quite fragile, almost delicate, especially when he’s depressed. Being separated from Billy for months at a time is very difficult for Dom. Unable to say the words, Dom’s drowsy eyes plead desperately for Elijah not to leave. He doesn’t want to be alone tonight. He needs a friend.

Understanding the silent request, Elijah nods and unsteadily heels off his shoes before stretching out on the bed next to Dom. He can stay for a while, until Dom falls asleep. If nothing else, it’ll give him a chance to sober up a little. Rolling onto his side, Elijah doesn’t protest when Dom snuggles into his chest, murmuring incoherently as their bodies get closer and closer. Dom’s just missing Billy, that’s all. And then Elijah’s body starts to respond to Dom’s proximity and intimate touches. The scent of Dom, so close, is arousing and intoxicating, making Elijah dizzy. He’s unable to resist threading his stubby fingers through Dom’s tousled blonde hair and rubbing his slender back to hold him close, wordlessly offering support and comfort. Dom’s hands find their way under Elijah’s shirt to find bare skin, and he’s swept away in a sea of alcohol-soaked lust.

After that, the details are a wee bit fuzzy. Dom remembers small hands pushing away his t-shirt and denims as wet, nibbling kisses trail up and down the smooth column of his neck. Overjoyed that Billy’s there to touch and take care of him, Dom tries to reciprocate, fumbling desperately with the buttons of the blue shirt that matches Billy’s enormous eyes and finally tearing it open in frustration. Once stripped naked, Dom’s firm thighs fall open in welcome invitation as he moans wantonly and breathlessly whimpers for more as three small, tentative fingers gently work their way inside to stretch his entrance. It’s been so long since Billy touched him this way. Far too long. To have him close again is exquisite.

Pulling his knees to his chest, Dom shamelessly begs to be filled, and moments later the weight of another aroused body is above him, and then he’s quickly being breached. The movements seem off and a wee bit strange, the rhythm different from their usual way, but Dom doesn’t care. He has his beloved Billy inside him again, after longing for him for so long. Overcome with desire and need, Dom bucks and groans loudly with pleasure as Billy moves in sharp and rapid, hard thrusts, instead of his usual long, deep strokes. Large blue eyes smoldering with heat and passion, Dom watches Billy gaze down at him as they move together, groping and writhing wildly, forgetting everything but each other.

The pace of Billy’s thrusts grow in speed quickly and more erratic with every roll of his narrow hips, his small hand working Dom’s swollen erection frantically, but then Billy finds his sweet spot, and Dom is screaming in ecstasy. Control falling through his clenched fingers, Dom comes hard as thick jets of hot come spurt inside him, warming his insides pleasantly, again and again. Billy seems to come forever, finally pulling out of Dom’s sated body and lapping at Dom’s flat belly with his small pink tongue to clean up Dom’s slippery, glittering release.

Happy at last, Dom rolls onto his side and cuddles into Billy’s sweat slicked warmth, idly wondering why Billy smells of clove cigarettes, but too exhausted to care. Alcohol and orgasm have left Dom limp and weak, and he doesn’t fight it as sleep envelops him.

It’s a sharp crack as something hits the floor, followed by breaking glass, that awakens Dom with a start from a sound sleep. Blinking at the brightness in the room, Dom squints and looks over his bare shoulder to find the source of the sound, meeting Billy’s shocked and horrified gaze as he stands frozen in the doorway. Hot tears are filling his lovely green eyes, and then they are quickly being brushed away, leaving anger and hurt behind. It’s only then that Dom realizes that he’s not alone in his bed. He has his arm wrapped around the warm body laying next to him. And they’re both very naked.

In the harsh light of day, Dom realizes his mistake. The enormity of it. He wasn’t with Billy last night. Billy wasn’t the one inside him, making love to him. It’s not possible that he’s laying next to Billy in sated afterglow, because Billy is standing in the doorway, pain and heartbreaking betrayal stealing his ability to speak. For a seemingly endless moment as time slows, they stare at one another, and then Billy blinks, giving his head a hard shake in an attempt to erase the sight before him.

Turning on his heel, Billy begins walking away at a brisk pace, leaving Dom to scramble out of bed to follow him. Quickly pulling on a pair of denims and jumping over the broken plate and shattered glass in the doorway, Dom realizes that Billy was attempting to surprise him with breakfast in bed. He’d flown all the way to LA to surprise Dom, only to discover his lover naked, in bed with someone else. With Elijah.

Dom finally catches up to Billy at the front door, having pushed passed Mac in the hallway by the kitchen. Reaching out and grabbing Billy’s small hand, Dom tries to explain. It was a mistake, that they’d been out at a club and had way too much to drink. It was an accident. Falling heavily onto his knees, Dom pleads with Billy, telling him that he only ever wants Billy. The words pour out in a mad rush as Dom adds that he’s so very sorry that it happened, and that it’ll never happen again. Refusing to meet Dom’s eyes, Billy stands stiffly, staring at the wall, one hand gripping the doorknob, slowly twisting it, the other clutched tightly in Dom’s desperate hands.

Hot tears fill Dom’s expressive and now terrified blue-grey eyes before rolling freely down his cheeks as Dom begs and pleads with Billy profusely, over and over again. The idea of losing Billy is devastating. He knows he can’t live without Billy. There’s no point. Billy is as necessary as the air he breathes, and the beating of his heart. Without Billy, Dom knows he’ll die. Slowly. Painfully.

“Forgive me,” he requests in a wavering voice as he pulls Billy’s fingers to his damp cheek and gently kisses Billy’s palm.

Overcome with anger, Billy yanks his hand away so violently that the movement causes Dom to lose his balance and fall awkwardly to the floor, resulting in Dom crying out in pain. Mouth hanging open in shock, Mac looks on as Elijah watches from down the hall, both stunned into silence.

Billy doesn’t look back as he walks out of Dom’s flat, slamming the door behind him so hard that the walls shake and the windows rattle. He refuses to hear Dom’s pitiful wail of despair as he gets to his knees, wrenches open the door, and begs Billy to come back.

He doesn’t see Dom collapse and curl up into a ball on the floor, sobbing brokenly for his only love. The most beautiful love that he has ever known, and has just destroyed.

*grrrr* This isn't making me like Elijah at all. Jerk. He wasn't drunk. He wanted Dom.

I'm so conflicted as to who I feel more sorry for. Poor Dom thinking that it was Billy. Poor Billy having to walk in on that. My poor poor poor babies. *sobs*

I read the entire story with my jaw on the ground.

I don't know what else to say. :(

I still blame Elijah. Beady-eyed homewrecker!!! And Dom!

I blame [livejournal.com profile] frojane as well! :P

And you!

But not Billeh. Cuz he cute and didn't deserve that at all. Poor thing.

*gestures*

how... wha... why... fuck.

ok, this. is worst than death fic, by that i mean it hurts more. it's one thing for the boys to be torn apart by death but to be torn apart by stupidity is worse. it just hurts to read a fic wher it seems not even friendship can salvaged, and they have such a beautiful friendship that that should never be allowed to happen. ever.

fucking hell.

of course i love your writing and i love you, this is a wonderful piece but it cuts like jagged glass.

shitfuckshit.

i mean elijah tries to be nice, but yeah, he fucked that shit up. dom just needed to be touched and loved and was drunk. and billy, poor billy he knew what dom needed and tried to get there and be all romantic.

gah! fuck!

*spazzes*

i am a bit better now. i really liked this but i don't think it is a story i can read over and over again like some. it just hurts too much. i think the reason that i responded so strongly is that it is left on such a note that i don't see how things could ever be good again. i do love that it is so edgy; you write edgy very well. a lot of people attempt to write devistation and it ends up being overdone somehow. you write it with a sense of realism and i think that is why i appreciate your writing so much.

*hugs back*

I know it probably wasn't intended, but I'm kinda pissed at Elijah (I know it takes two but still). Poor Dom! I like this a lot but it's just incredibly sad and very painful.

That made me get teary eyed!! Dom's love for Billy and vice versa was shown so vividly and just one mistake can ruin it all... *sniff* Poor Dom and Poor Billy.

Well... maybe.... maybe Dom made it up to Billy? Maybe? Perhaps? Hopefully?!

:( It was a very nice chapter though.

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_living_is_easy/

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_living_is_easy/
