Chapter 11
“Dom … time to get up.” Billy pokes Dom in the side and pulls the down the covers. “Mmm… no so warm Billy com back to bed… please the kids aren’t up yet.” Dom holds out his arms in hopes that Billy will fall into them and they can both get some much needed sleep or at least have a little fun together to start their day. Billy can’t fight Dom when he looks so warm and inviting; he falls into bed and slowly kisses down Dom’s chest. Before then can get too far they hear Morgan crying through the baby monitor. Dom groans and flips onto his stomach and wills his hard on to go away. Billy smiles at Dom’s bare back and say “No one said having kids would be easy.” Billy kisses Dom’s back and leaves him to calm down.

Billy gathers up Morgan up in his arms and kisses the top of his head; he quiets down immediately. Billy walks back down the hall to his bedroom stopping quickly to check on the twins who are still peacefully sleeping. Once in back in the bedroom Billy picks up the cover and crawls back into bed with his husband. Dom smiles and rolls back over and pulls Billy and Morgan into his arms. Morgan lays in the crook of his parents’ warm bodies and falls back to sleep. Dom and Billy can soon hear the soft sound of their sleeping child. Very slowly as to not wake Morgan up Dom takes Billy’s hand in his own and rests them on the small body of their son. They can feel the rise and fall of his chest. “Dom we really should get up.” Billy says halfheartedly. “Why love?” Dom asks already falling back to sleep. Billy thinks for a few moments and curls up into Dom’s body and closes his eyes. He last thought is ‘the alarm is set.’

“Jamie shhh…” Merry whispers to her twin as she picks up the clock that has fallen to the floor. “They’re sleeping.” Quietly the two pull back the covers and join their parents and little brother in the large, warm bed before them.

Dom wakes and is surprised to find two more bodies in his bed then when he fell a sleep. Glancing at the clock he can see he is already late for work, but he truly does not want to leave the warm embrace of his family. Dom sighs and without waking his sleeping family gets out of bed and into the bedroom to get ready for his day. Dom finds a note pad and a pen by Billy’s bedside table and writes him a quick note and then heads to the door; before he can get there he turns on his heel and goes back to the bedroom. The sight before him will stay in his memories until the day he dies. Moving slowly into the room he pulls the covers up and over the tangled mass of arms and legs. He leans down and kisses Billy’s forehead and softly says “love you Bills, be home later; sleep well my love.” Dom runs his fingers through Billy’s ginger hair. Billy smiles in his sleep. Dom leaves the house know he will get shit for being late and buts wroth very second of it just to have these times with his family.

The phone rings and wakes Billy; opening his eyes he is confused at first by why there are two blonde heads in his bed and why his husband is missing. Billy hops out of bed and picks up the phone on its last ring. “Hello” Billy rubs the sleep from his eyes. “Hey Billy is Dom there.” Billy hears the voice of Matt Fox on the line. “Nope Matt he’s at work right?” “Billy he is not here; do you know what time he left?” Billy’s heart stops, his eyes dart around the room looking for any sign that could tell him where Dom is… his cell is on the counter but his car isn’t in the driveway … ‘where is he’. Billy knows the alarm didn’t go off and he hopes and prays that Dom just left the house before he woke. Billy doesn’t see the yellow post it note that has fallen under the bed. ~Good Morning my love- Running late for work and didn’t have the heart to wake you and the kids. I will be home later; give the kids my love. Maybe night we can get back to what we started this morning. Love you with all my heart- Dom~ “Matt you still there?” Billy asks trying to stay calm. “The alarm didn’t go off so he must have run out the door before you called. Can you have him call me when he gets in?” Billy says with a false calm. “Yeah no problem Billy; Thanks, talk to you later.” Matt says before hanging up. “Bye Matt.”

Billy walks back into the bedroom. His heart is in his stomach. His keeps the mantra in his head of ‘he is okay just running late and couldn’t call cause he forgot his cell… he’s okay,’ While getting dressed. On his way back into the kitchen he sees his children all warped up in each other and it gives him a moment of calm.

Billy holds the portable phone in his lap looking out the kitchen window waiting for Dom to call. “Da are you cold? You’re shaking.” Billy looks to see Merry standing in the kitchen looking at him oddly. It breaks his heart for a moment to see how much the twins look like his beloved husband. “No my love, I’m okay… would you like to sit with me for a while?” Billy holds out his arms and his daughter runs into them. She is quiet in his arms. Billy holds her tight and she relaxes into his body. He doesn’t want to scare the kids so after a few minutes he pulls himself together and tries to get their day started. Billy stands and places Merry into the chair next to his. “What would you like for breakfast?” “Can I have lucky charms?” “Aye love but just this morning alright.” Billy and Dom don’t usually like to give the kids sugary foods, but after Evey took care of the kids for a few days for Dom’s Birthday the girls are hooked on it and right now Billy really doesn’t have the will to fight with them over cereal; he just wants to know his husband is okay. Billy places a bowl of sugary goodness in front of Merry as the phone rings; Billy races to answer “Dom…

“Dom, you’re late.” Says a very disgruntled production staff member. “I know, sorry the damn alarm didn’t go off” Dom shakes his head and mumbles “you try having three kids and a full time job and see if you need a bit more sleep every now and then.” The women doesn’t hear and says “Well you best be off to makeup.” “Yeah” Dom runs off to the make up trailer avoiding most of the cast; his being late means a longer day for everyone.

Finally in the makeup chair Dom sees Matt walk in with his cell in hand. Before Dom can say anything, Matt hands him the phone and says, “I think you may have one very worried husband at home.” Looking down at the phone Dom doesn’t understand what’s going on. “What? Matt; Billy, the kids are they okay?” Dom is already out of the chair and heading for the door before Matt can stop him. “Dom, stop everyone is fine; I think I may have scared Billy a little… I called your house to find out where you were and Billy didn’t know where you were or when you had left so he’s a little concerned about you.” Dom shakes his head, “Thank God… I will be right back.” Dom lifts Matt cell in his hand and heads outside.

“Yeah love.”
“Dominic how could you leave the house without telling me… you scared the shit out of me.”
“Billy, I am sorry… I left you a note didn’t you get it; I just didn’t want to wake you, you looked so peaceful.”
“Does it sound like I got the note? Sorry love I was just scared I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“Sorry my love… I will be home tonight…we still need to talk to the girls.”
“Its going to be a long day, see you night.”
“Love you Billy.”
