July 26
“Are you sure about this mate? Well cheers!” Dick hung up the phone and ran to Lloyd’s office.
“You’ll never believe this!” he cried.
“What do you have?”
“Get this: he’s a student at UCLA majoring in Drama!”
“Prince Billy is majoring in Drama? This is better than expected, what else do you got?”
“He’s got a roommate, he’s the chap in the photograph.”
“Do we have a name?”
“Dominic Monaghan, also majoring in Drama and get this: they have been taking the same courses since day one. According to my sources, they do everything together.”
“That’s very interesting.”
July 27
“Lloyd, when are we going?”
“Patience Dick, patience. We need more facts.”
“What do you mean, facts? We have everything.”
“The prince has disappeared for a year Dick We can’t have a story only about that he’s a student from UCLA, majoring in drama, and that he has a friend, Mr. Monaghan. We need more. Don’t worry, I have a little spy following the prince’s every move and every coin he has spent since he arrived.”
“Spent? What do you mean?”
“He must have a credit card, but not under his real name.”
Dick sighed and rolled his eyes, but decided to wait.
August 5
A week had passed since their last conversation about Billy, when Dick’s phone rang.
“Hullo. Yes, this is he. You have? Wait, let me write this down. This is interesting. Are you absolutely 100% sure about this? And to whom may I express my gratitude? Fantastic, cheers mate.”
Dick ran to Lloyd’s office.
“Lloyd!”
“What have you got?”
“His credit card, he’s using the name ‘Peter Morgan’.”
“Peter Morgan?” Lloyd frowned. “What else do we know about Mr. Morgan?”
“He went to Mexico in late November and Lake Tahoe for Christmas and New Year’s and… he didn’t go alone.”
“I suppose Mr. Dominic Monaghan went with our prince?”
“That’s what my source thinks.”
“Let’s assess this shall we? The prince has been everywhere with this chap. They went to Mexico together for a week, spent Christmas and New Year’s together in Lake Tahoe, they went to a Paul McCartney concert together and we see them hugging in the picture? What does this mean?”
“Everything paid by Peter Morgan, exclusive hotels, first row tickets… he’s paying top dollar for this chap.”
“They have to be more than friends, Dick. A man doesn’t pay this for another man if he’s trying to impress.”
“You think they’re lovers?”
“It’s a good possibility. NOW we can go and surprise Your Majesty.”
