berlin premiere.

two thousand and one, first time there, nervous, scared, jumping in each other's arms playfully, gaudy outfits and gaudier attitudes. two years later, better looking, grown up a little, more money, better tastes. their innocence lost in money, beauty, teethhairhandcare products, world of lipsticks and jewelry, silicon and plastic and rubber. fake people in a fake world.

now they're close, too close, fans scream, cameras flash, red carpet and the conspicuous elijah absence. hand in his pocket, billy awkward, contrasting/complimenting duo, jeans with a suit and a tie with a t-shirt. even their hair is different, dom's plastered in his eyes, just barely clean-shaven with billy's perfection, tiny fauxhawk styled, teased, insecurities worn on his sleeve.

staring in each other's eyes, forgetting the public, the pr, the eventual screaming of their reps at the both of them, how dare you what the fuck were you thinking think of your imagefansgirlfriend. dom will slouch in his chair, twirling a sharpie (black very fine tip, the type he always uses and has six thousand spares of) between his fingers, face bored to the point of being unreadable. billy will sit up straight, nodding when needed, appearing studious, now ashamed, then understanding. yes, it was wrong. no, we'll never do it again (yes, we will). yes, we understand.

dom would later say that billy is too much of a follower, not a leader, and billy will gently smack him and reprimand him for saying so. dom will laugh and sling an arm around him, happy and in love.

three months later, dom will tweak billy's chin and billy will yell at him. dom will pull his hand back, hurt flying across his face before being replaced with his usual cheeky grin. billy will feel the slightest remorse before getting over it and sitting with sean.

a month after that, dom will fly to oahu and start working on his new television show, while billy would remain in scotland. they would lose almost all contact with each other, while elijah would wring his hands in frustration, giving up on the both of them again.

four months after that, rumors will start of dom and evey. billy will ache, cry himself to sleep, three-quarter empty bottle of scotch always within reach. ali will grow impatient, wanting attention he can't give to her. she will walk out, and billy won't care. he will buy a dog and name it dominic.

four months after that, they will meet in dom's beach house. elijah will be prodding, insistant, wantingwillingneeding things the way they were. nothing will change. evey's things will be covering dom's, and billy will blink back tears...
