Title: One Sweet Day
Author: Mav
Pairing: Monaboyd
Summary: Can't summarize.
Complete: Yes
Warnings: Angst/death!fic
A/N: Huge thanks to Lalablue, PirateSorka and Canciona for pointing out some things to me that missed my attention in my first post of this story. Also, a huge 'I'm Sorry' to those I squicked because I didn't have the warning on the story,
Billy looked down; he didn't want to. God he didn't want to, but he did.
I'm sorry I never told you all I wanted to say.
They said it would be good for him, good for him? Fucking it hell it would be good for him. He choked back a sob but he couldn't tear his eyes away.
Now it's too late to hold you.
Billy couldn't stop himself from going over every moment, every word, everything he had wanted to say but had stopped himself.
Cause you've flown away, so far away.
There was nothing to cope with this. This absolute emptiness.
Never had I imagined living without your smile.
Billy wondered how long he had been standing there, but now, he couldn't turn away. That would mean he had accepted what fate had given him and he refused, he refused to accept it.
Darling, I never showed you, assumed you had always known.
Billy's emotions finally got the best of him and a single tear escaped, he tried to choke it back but the sob racked his chest, making the rest of the tears that had been barricaded behind a wall come spilling out and rain down on the ground below him. God how could this happen? Billy screamed in rage to himself. His small fists balled up, a defensive manuever for an invisible enemy.
I took your presence for granted, but I always cared, I always cared.
How in Gods name was he going to be able to do this? This thing, this moving, breathing, living. How could he continue on again after so much of what he loved had been taken away again? It wasn't fair. It wasn't fucking fair and Billy cursed God, not for the first time in his life for hating him so much to do this to him again.
Although the sun will shine again, it will never be as bright.
Billy cried. For him. For himself. For everything he wanted to say but didn't get a chance to. Billy began to feel the insides of him rip apart as the final realizaation set in and Billy couldn't take it. It felt as if his very soul were being ripped into two parts and Billy grabbed at his chest as he felt the physical pain of it rip through his heart. His eyes blurred as the tears overcame him and he finally turned his head away.
And I know your shining on me from heaven.
Billy jerked his head up and looked around him, it just all seemed to much. To much of this had happened before and he couldn't take this one. This time.
Like so many friends we've lost along the way.
This was one time too many. Billy looked down. He had nothing left. He knew it. Finally, his surrondings set in and Billy knew what he must do. He dried the last tear that had escaped and had made the lonely trail down his cheek, leaving a shining trail along the way. Billy leaned in and choked back a sob as he whispered, "I'm sorry I never told you, all I wanted to say..." he choked back the rest and set his face in a grim line. He dropped the red rose into the grave and managed to turn around and walk away.
And I know We will be together, one sweet day.
We will be together again Dom. Billy promised Dom and walked out into the parking lot, ready to follow and meet Dominic.
