Pairing: Monaboyd
Rating: PG
Summary: "LOST" is a success and Billy is not happy with the choices he has made. (Please note, I'm using Wednesdays as that is when "LOST" will air in the US. I'm not sure if, or when it when it will run in Scotland - I'm using a little poetic license here!)

Wednesdays
(4/5)
The week went by slowly but Wednesday eventually arrives. Excitement builds, his heart beats just a bit faster and he smiles to himself. He resists the urge to speed. He has plenty of time. His mind wanders and he starts to reflect.
He knows this delusion of a life with him, a life that might have been, is not good. He knows he needs to accept the decisions that he’s made and move on. He just doesn’t know how to. He thought he had it all figured out. He was so sure that he made the right choice and life would be good. He was so wrong.
He pulls into the drive and stops the car. He gets out and jogs up the stairs, checking the post as he passes. Just one envelope, brown and familiar. He stares at it. He frowns as he turns the envelope over. He knows that nothing will be there to indicate what this is all about but he looks just the same.
He glances at his watch, three minutes to go. He dismisses the envelope for now and heads inside. He places the mail on the coffee table in the living room as he clicks on the television. He kicks his shoes off, falls onto the couch and props his feet on the table.
The show begins and his world is illuminated once more, shadows fading away and light stealing its way in. He remains there, entranced for the next hour. Nothing exists outside of his living room during this time. Out there life goes on, loves are united, babies are born, lives are lost…but not in here, not for him.
The show ends, the brightness dims and gloom fills the room.
A lone tear slips down his cheek. He sniffles. He sighs. He wipes away the tear.
He gets up to go make dinner and remembers the brown envelope. He picks it up and tears it open on his way to the kitchen. Pausing, he pulls an entrée out of the freezer and puts it into the microwave. He reaches inside the brown envelope noticing the post mark that reads:
Kissimmee, FL
He pulls out the small blue envelope. The flap is not sealed, and there is nothing written on it. He reaches inside and pulls out the single sheet of white paper. He unfolds it. Center spaced are twelve words typed in blue ink:
"Be not afraid
Open your eyes
Follow your heart
Near or far"
He considers what these words mean. A questions forms in his mind but he knows the answer is something that he could never hope for - he gave up any chance of that a long time ago.
He walks to the refrigerator and places the single white piece of paper on top of the former, joined together now under the magnet shaped like a tree.
The microwave beeps. Taking his dinner out, he sits down at the table and eats in solitude.
