Chapter Three
Billy didn’t know where to begin. So much had happened. He’d been longing to talk to someone ever since he’d found Orlando tangled in the bed sheets. But he’d put his friends needs before his own, helping Elijah with his latest film, listening to Dom sadly recount his latest failed audition, listening to Viggo on the phone, discussing his latest poem while Billy opened a package he'd received from his ‘king’ containing various photos he had taken. Everyone leaned on Billy, looked to him for advice, guidance, and support, but he never leaned back, never asked for the favor to be returned. Now he was. Now he needed Dom to be there and to listen.
“Dom, whatever I tell you, please, don’t go off and...and kill Orlando. That’s the last thing I need on my conscience.”
“Fine. I’ll just maim him,” Dom replied, trying to lighten Billy’s mood.
Billy sighed. “Dom, please. I’m sure he feels guilty enough without you hurting him. Anyways, I went to visit him on the Troy set...”
~~~*~~~
Billy woke up one morning to find Orlando tugging on his shoes. “Orli?” he called sleepily. “You heading to the set?”
“Yeah. Go back to sleep, Billy.” Orlando grabbed his cell phone from the side table. “I’ll be back later.” He gave Billy a quick kiss on the cheek.
“I’ll stop by later. We can go to lunch or something. You, me, and Sean.”
Orlando sighed. “Billy, you’ve been here for two weeks and...and we’ve had lunch together every day. I have plans, ok? You and Sean can still go. See you tonight.” He quickly left the room, not giving Billy a chance to respond.
Billy sighed as he crawled out of bed and hopped in the shower. Orlando had been acting strangely lately. He’d been less affectionate, not holding Billy’s hand nearly as much, and they hadn’t made love since that first day against the kitchen counter. He knew he was probably being clingy, but he missed his boyfriend, missed making love to him, missed waking up in his arms, missed simply being with him.
He toweled off and put on Orlando’s bathrobe. It was a little too big for him, but it was comfortable and smelled like Orlando. The smell brought back the memories of all that he was missing. He shuffled into the kitchen and picked up the phone. As he expected, Orlando’s voice mail picked up.
“I’m either filming or off having a good fuck. Haha. If this is, well, you know, tonight will be a night to remember. Leave one”
Billy smiled. “Hey, Orli. I’m sorry if I’ve been clingy lately. Just missed you, ya know? Anyways, I’ll see you tonight. I love you.” As he hung up the phone, he wondered what Orlando had planned for that night.
Billy snuck up behind Sean and grabbed his shoulders. “Hey, Sean,” he said, interrupting Sean’s conversation with a crewman.
Sean turned and smiled. “Hey, Bills. Lunch? Be ready in a moment.” He finished up his conversation with an extra before returning to Billy. “So, the elf joining us?”
Billy frowned and shook his head. “He said he had plans.”
“Fucking attention whore. Well, we’ll have fun. Just the two of us.”
“Boromir and his hobbit?” Billy asked with a chuckle.
“Why the hell not? Come on, Pickle.” Sean threw his arms around Billy’s shoulder and the pair walked toward the catering table.
Billy felt bad about how he’d been treating Sean lately, looking every five minutes for Orlando’s smile and focusing solely on his boyfriend when the three of them were together. He hoped he could make up for it. “So, Seanie, how are the girls?”
“Great. Saw ‘em just before we flew down here,” Sean said, a smile crossing his face.
The pair chatted quietly about everything from the November premier of Master and Commander to how nasty movie set food was, no matter what country it was in.
“So, have anything planned for tonight?” Sean asked as he finished his lunch.
“I think Orli has something planned, but I’m not sure what it is. Something big.”
“Oh? Huh.” Sean shrugged and stood up to return his plate.
“What do you mean ‘huh’?” Billy took off after him. “Do you know something I don’t?”
“Well, just that Orlando said he had something unforgettable planned tonight and he hoped you won’t mind if he got home really late. But I must’ve miss-heard him. He probably said he hoped you’d like it when he came home.”
“Probably. I mean, who else would he having an unforgettable evening planned with?”
“Me?” Sean said with a sly grin.
“Fuck you.” Billy chuckled and playfully shoved Sean. “Sorry I’ve been a bit annoying lately. Can I make it up to you? Take you out to lunch tomorrow or something?”
“Sounds great, Billy. And you haven’t been annoying. I understand.”
“You’re a great friend, Beansie. I’ll see you tomorrow than?”
“Tomorrow.”
Billy returned to Orlando’s condo were he spent most of the day waiting for Orlando to come home. He called Dom and made plans to visit L.A. after his trip in Mexico was done. He hadn’t seen much of Dom or Elijah recently, and missed his friends. Shortly before dinner, he settled himself on the couch and turned on the T.V. thinking Orlando would be home shortly, but after a few hours, he found himself nodding off. He curled up on the couch, promising himself he’d sleep until Orlando came home.
He woke up late in the night to hear Orlando coming in the front door. He glanced sleepily at the clock. It was after two in the morning. “Orli?” he called as he sat up on the couch.
“Sorry, Dimple. Had something planned.” Orlando walked to Billy and kissed his cheek. “I know we haven’t spent much time together, but that will change. Have something to do tomorrow but I should be free in the afternoon.”
“I’m taking Sean out to lunch. You can join us if you like?”
A strange look came over Orlando’s face. “No. You two made your plans. I’ll find...something to do.” He kissed Billy on the forehead. “Let’s get to bed. I’m tired.”
“So Lorna looked over at me and said ‘Daddy, I’m glad you got a hair cut.’ Didn’t have the heart to tell her it was a wig.” Sean smiled. “She’s a wonder, my little girl. Molly watches the movies with her head buried in my side and Abigail says Evie’s too little to watch them.” He shrugged as he took a quick drink. “Have to say I agree with her. She’s too young.”
“Your girls are marvels, Sean. The three of them get along ok?” Billy started picking at his meal. He wasn’t really all that hungry but figured if he pushed his food around, Sean wouldn’t question him.
“Oh, yes. My ex’s, amazing as it sounds, don’t want them to hate each other so they get together every so often. I love em for it. Hate to have my girls resenting each other.”
Sean smiled over at Billy. “So, how was last night?”
Billy looked down at his plate. “He didn’t come home until after two.”
Sean raised an eyebrow. “Really? Wow. I’m sorry, Billy. Wish I could help you two.”
“Little you can do. Christ, Seanie, we...we were so happy and good together. Ever since he became God’s gift to acting, he’s been different. During Pirates, he’d call me every day, but now it’s...it’s like I don’t exist.”
“Didn’t seem that way your first day here,” Sean muttered.
“That...that was just...just, hell, I don’t know what that was. We haven’t done it since, I can tell you.”
“Really?” Sean asked as he raised an eyebrow. “Well, I wouldn’t worry. He’s from Canterbury after all, you know how they can be.”
Billy chuckled as the waitress arrived with the bill. He slipped her his credit card before Sean could argue. “My treat,” he said, holding up his hand as Sean’s reached for his wallet.
Sean shrugged. “Repayment for the protection, right?”
“You have it in one, Boromir.”
The waitress returned with Billy’s card. He slipped her a twenty dollar tip and the two left before she could hug him.
“Big tipper, Boyd.”
“Poor girl’s on her feet all day. Puts up with shit from the likes of us. It’s the least I could do.”
They got into Sean’s car and drove back to Orlando’s condo. Billy grinned when he saw Orlando’s car in the driveway.
“Doesn’t mean he’s home, mate, remember?” Sean said as he pulled to a stop.
“He took the car this morning so he is. Good to spend time with you, Sean.” Billy pulled Sean into an awkward hug. “See you around?” he asked as he got out of the car.
“Sure, mate. Have fun.” Sean chuckled as he pulled out of the driveway.
Billy smiled as he sprinted up into the condo. He was quiet, deciding it was best to surprise Orlando. There was little sign of his boyfriend on the ground floor so he went up the stairs and headed toward the bedroom. He slowly opened the door, grinning like a pumpkin, eager to surprise his boyfriend. But Orlando wasn’t the one surprised.
Billy’s eyes widened at the sight before him. Orlando was naked, the covers tossed loosely over his lean body. Lying beside him was an equally naked girl, curled in his arms. Orlando stirred slightly and kissed the girl on the forehead. “I love you, Molly,” he muttered. “No one else.” Billy’s heart broke as the words left Orlando’s lips.
Breathing fast, Billy fled the room, and the condo. He flew out into the street, digging frantically for his phone. “Sean?” he sniffled. “I...I need you to take me to the airport. No…no, I’m fine. It’s...it’s…” he sniffled again. He couldn’t tell Sean the truth. There was still another month left of filming. Billy didn’t want to mess that up by causing bad feelings between Sean and Orlando. “It’s my sister. She’s...she’s sick. No, he wishes he could. Has plans or something. Thank you, Sean. An hour? Ok. Thank you again.” Billy hung up the phone and wiped away his tears. What had he done that had led Orlando to cheat on him? He didn’t know, but he had to get his stuff. He wiped his eyes again and headed back towards the condo.
“Orli?” he called this time. “I’m back!”
He heard the rustling of sheets and whispered voices before Orlando appeared at the top of the stairs.
“Dimple, great. Missed you.” Orlando walked over and leaned in to kiss Billy who quickly pulled away. “What?”
“I...I...I saw you,” Billy whispered to his feet before raising his head to meet Orlando’s eyes. “I saw you in bed with...with that girl.”
“Oh. Well, now you know then.”
“’Oh’? You...you’re fucking cheating on me and all you can say is ‘oh’? Fuck you, Orlando Bloom. I’m leaving. I’ve already called Sean. Don’t worry. Didn’t tell him the truth.” Billy tried to move past Orlando to get his things, but Orlando stopped him.
“Fuck, Billy. Do you even wonder why I’m cheating on you? You act like such a fucking clingy girl half the time. I hate that. If I wanted a girlfriend, I’d get one. So I did. You annoy the hell out of me, out of everyone. Don’t you see that?”
Billy struggled not to cry. “Just let me go. I’ll get my ‘annoying, girly’ ass out of your hair.” He pushed past Orlando and stormed up the stairs. He ignored the half-dressed girl trying to hide in the bathroom. Instead, he focused on shoving everything he’d brought with him into his bags. It was the worst packing job he’d ever done, but he didn’t care. He returned down the stairs and didn’t speak to Orlando as he made his plane reservations.
“I’m sorry, Billy. Is that what you want to hear? I’m sorry I didn’t break up with you last year.” Orlando turned and headed back up the stairs without a backward glance.
Billy dragged his bags outside, sat on the steps, and cried. He tried to think of everything he’d done that could’ve possibly annoyed Orlando. His age, his accent, his hair, his clothes, his stubbornness on staying in Scotland all flew through his head. He thought of everything he done to annoy his friends. It was too much to think about and he started getting a raging headache. When he saw Sean’s car, approaching he wiped his eyes and slipped on a pair of sunglasses. “Hey, Seanie. Thanks for coming.”
“Yeah, sure, anytime. You ok, Billy?” Sean had been concerned since Billy had called him. He could hear the tears in Billy’s voice.
“Yeah, I’m fine. My sister, she’s...she’s in hospital. Nothing serious but.” Billy shrugged trying his best not to cry again.
Sean nodded and they continued the ride to the airport.
Billy called Elijah and Dom to cancel their plans. In the state he was in, Billy didn’t notice the disappointment in their voices.
Billy picked up his ticket and headed quickly towards the terminal. “Thanks again, Sean,” he said as he was ready to board. “You’re...you’re a great friend.”
“Anytime, Pickle. Just call, ok?” Sean pulled Billy into a hug, holding him tighter than normal. He knew how close Billy was to his sister. “Take care of your sister, ok?”
Billy nodded and boarded the plane. He sank into his seat, closed the window, and fell asleep. He felt the worse he’d ever felt in his life. He’d opened his heart and soul to Orlando, only to have it all shattered in an instance. Billy knew it was all his fault. He decided not to burden his friends ever again.
~~~*~~~
“Wait, Sean had to know, Billy. I’m...I’m going to kill him, too,” Dom seethed.
“No, Dom. Please. I...I lied to him. Sean was wonderful, far more then I deserved and I love him for it. It’s not his fault.” Billy squeezed Dom’s hand. He had to convince Dom it wasn’t Sean’s fault. All the fault fell squarely on Billy’s shoulders.
“Billy, we all love you. Yes, you are a bit annoying times, but that’s what we love about you.” Dom grinned to let Billy know he was only teasing.
“If you say so, Dom.” Billy kissed the back of Dom’s hand. “You should get some sleep, mate. You’ve been sitting with me for a long time. I...I appreciate it and all, but I can’t have you getting sick, now can I?” He smiled cheerfully, once again, trying not to give anything away.
“When you fall asleep I’ll go. Deal?”
Billy nodded and yawned. “Thank you, Dom,” he whispered as he drifted back to sleep.
“You’re so important to me, Billy,” Dom whispered. “You have to know that.” He kissed Billy’s forehead and rose to his feet. He was going to keep his promise to Billy. Someone had to. “I love you, Billy.”

Dom, whatever I tell you, please, don’t go off and...and kill Orlando.
Damn, he just had to go and ask for something so difficult - because let me tell you after reading this chapter I would have gladly accompanied Dom to do just that. *glares at Orlando*
All the fault fell squarely on Billy’s shoulders.
No, Billy, don't think that. Not your fault! Never! Dom, make him see that it's not his fault!!!
I'm already looking forward to the next chapter :)
