In which Dom is a spy and Billy is a Crime Boss.

Dom looked in the mirror and adjusted his bowtie. He wanted to make sure that he looked the part. This was his first mission. He was to infiltrate the inner circle of notorious crime boss, ‘Big’ Billy Boyd.

Ever since he had been a little boy, Dominic Monaghan had wanted to be a spy. He has spent his childhood, taking notes and watching the neighbourhood coming and goings. If there was something happening, he knew about it. He had worked hard to get where he was today, and he was pleased that he had finally been given the chance to prove himself. Today was the day of the annual ‘Boyd Ball’, a fundraising event held to benefit local children’s wards. Dominic was being sent along, posing as a wealthy businessman, he was to meet Billy Boyd and try to befriend him, at the least he was to get a meeting arranged.

The Ball was being held at the local Museum, and was full of local businessmen and women, and people who wanted to climb the social ladder. Dom began to work his way around the room, pressing the flesh and working his way across it towards his target.

‘Big’ Billy Boyd was holding court in the area over by the refreshments. Dom began to make his way over towards him. He was nervous, but composed. Here he was, his first mission, and an important one at that. He was close enough to hear Billy’s laughter and then his accent, his oh so perfect Scottish accent.

He was close enough to feel the air that he breathed.

Here goes…

Dom joined in with the laughter that had erupted as he approached the group. He sidled up to one of the guys in the group, who turned and smiled at Dom. ‘Oh he’s cute’ thought Dom, then ‘mustn’t get distracted, didn’t come here for the guys.’
He smiled at Billy, who regarded him with a look that said ‘Do I know you?’ and then turned away and spoke to another of the group, who left. ‘Now’s my chance’ he thought.

Dom took a step closer to Billy and said “I hear you’re on the lookout for new business contacts?” “I’m always on the lookout” came the reply. “Can I get you a drink whilst you listen to my offer?” Dom asked, trying to push the nerves down “Aye, that might be a good idea Mr?” “Monaghan, Dominic,” Dom added quickly, “Aye, that’s be grand Dominic” Billy said smiling and closing the space between them.
