Dom and Lena stumbled into the apartment, lips tightly locked, hands roaming freely at every place they could reach.
“Fallen Angel, you don’t know what you did to me with those last words up there on stage...”
Dom groaned when he kicked the door shut and staggering over to the bedroom, never letting go of his girlfriend, not even enough to breathe properly.

The gig had been even more of a success than usual, the audience had kept asking for song after song. Dancing With Devils had played almost one and a half hour longer than they had intended and still the crowd had been cheering and begging for more.
Dom had been squirming in his seat all the time.

“I swear to God, we love you, but this is the last song.” Lena had finally announced, but the people still wanted more.
“I said it would be the last...” More cheering.
“Come on, it’s getting late...” It only got louder.
“Have mercy with us!” She was met with the familiar “we want more”-mantra.
“Jesus, okay...one last. But then you’ll have to excuse me, I intend to be shagged through the mattess tonight.”

The noise had been overwhelming, but Dom just hadn’t heard it anymore, all he had been able to hear was the rush of blood that was running from his head to parts where it was needed more.

It was the darkest hour just before sunrise when they finally collapsed together on the bed, Dom spooning Lena and holding her hand, pressing it right down onto her chest, feeling her racing heart through her slender fingers.

After long moments in which they just breathed together, Lena turned around to face Dom, the last moonlight caught in her eyes and made them shine.

“I’m sorry, Lucifer...” she whispered.
“Oh, Baby, what for?”
“For not being good enough for Billy...” A tear left a silvery line on her cheek, Dom leaned over and gently kissed it away.
“Why do you think that?”
“I don’t know...call it a woman’s instinct but I just feel it. He doesn’t like me, Dom.”

If it had taken more than the tears in her eyes to convince him that she really believed what she said, it was her calling him “Dom”. She only did that when she was really serious.
“Lena...my sweet, little Lena...don’t ever think you’re not good enough for anyone. It always takes Billy some time to warm up for someone...don’t worry, please, Baby, don’t...”

He pulled her closer until her head was resting on his chest and caressed her shoulder until he felt her breathing deepen.
“Sweet dreams, my Fallen Angel...I love you...”

He kissed the top of her head before snuggling his face into her hair and fell asleep, their hearts beating just like one.

“Do you want another beer?”
Elijah looked up at Billy from his spot on the floor.
The older man was sitting on the sofa, his knees drawn up to his chest, his chin resting on them while staring blankly at the television screen where the credits of some actionmovie none of them had paid attention to were running.

“I wonder what they’re doing right now...”

Not trusting his legs anymore, Elijah crawled over to the couch and hauled himself up until he was sitting beside Billy and pulled him close again.
“Don’t torture yourself like that, Bills...don’t torture us like that. Honestly, I don’t want to know...”

Billy’s eyes were dark with sadness when he looked up at the man who was so much younger than him but seemed to be stronger than he himself would ever be.
“I’m so sorry, Lighe...I know how you must be feeling...I just...” He bit back a sob and covered his face with his hands.
“Shh, it’s okay, Billy...I know it’s fuckin’ hard not to think of...of the things they might be doing right now. Come on, let’s have another beer and then try to sleep a bit, alright?”

When Billy nodded slightly, Elijah stood up and made his way to the kitchen, swaying a little from the alcohol and exhaustion when he came back and handed Billy a bottle and taking a sip from his own.

They remained silent for a long time, both feeling overwhelmed by the pain and the thoughts they were desperatly trying to push away.

The sky was turning a lighter shade of blue outside when Elijah looked up again.
A small smile formed on his lips when he saw Billy curled up on the sofa, fast asleep, his empty bottle still in his hands.

Carefully, the young man got up and took the bottle away, placing it on the coffee table before covering the Scot with a blanket.

“Dommie...” Billy whimpered and turned in his sleep before setteling down again.
Elijah sighed and looked sadly down at the older man. “I’m so sorry, Billy...”

He switched off the lights and walked over to his own bedroom, kicked off his shoes and lay down on his bed which felt even colder now that he knew Lena would be on her way to Europe before he woke up again.

“I’ll miss you so, Babybunny...” he whispered into his pillow before squeezing his eyes shut and forcing himself into an uneasy sleep.

Lena picked up her backpack and looked at the ceiling of LAX, up to where the speakers had just announced the final call for her flight.

“Well, Lucifer...I guess, this is it, then...”
“Yeah...” Dom’s voice was barely audible.
“I’ll call as soon as I get there, alright? Don’t worry about me.”
“Okay...” Dom swallowed hard.
“Give my love to Doodle...and spend some time with Billy, he seems to miss having you all for himself.”

It was then that Dom couldn’t hold back his tears any longer.
“Oh, Lena, I love you so fuckin’ much...” he sobbed while throwing his arms around her and holding on for dear life, not willing to let her go.
“I know, Dom...I know. I love you, too, my Lucifer. I love you, too...”
She hugged him tight and pressed a soft kiss to his lips before gently taking his hands and unwrapping his arms from her neck.
“I have to go...talk to you soon, okay?”
Dom could do nothing but nod.

She turned and walked away from him, looking back all the time and mouthing a last ‘I love you, m’Dommie’ before she turned a corner and was out of sight.

Dom stood at the window, biting his lower lip as tears left shiny lines on his cheeks.

Long after the last ray of light had caught on Lena's plane, sending a glimmering goodbye down to where he was standing, he turned around, his head bowed, and made his way back to the car.

It was Billy who opened the door. Elijah was in the bathroom, having a much needed shower.
Once the white wooden door swung aside, Billy had two arms full of sobbing Englishman.
“She’s gone, Billy...shite, she’s gone...I already miss her so much...”

All Billy could do was hold Dom close, whispering soothing nonsense into his ear while he tried to bite back his own tears and hoped Dom didn’t hear the sound of his breaking heart.
