Chapter Twelve

Dominic began to notice the cold shoulder most of the fellowship gave him whenever he was alone. He soon figured out they knew the exact nature of his and Billy’s relationship. His beatings on Billy continued, but they were more controlled. He rarely hit him hard enough to leave a mark any place visible and he always stopped shy of breaking any more bones.

What hurt Billy more than any punch Dominic threw were his hateful words. When they first started their relationship, Dominic told Billy often how much he loved him, how handsome he was, how talented he was, and how lucky he was to have gotten him. Dominic still told Billy he loved him, but it was usually only during sex or after a beating. He constantly put Billy down about his ‘old man’ looks, often told him he wasn’t worthy of half the roles he got offered, and how lucky Billy was he had yet to leave him.

Billy began a downward spiral as he started to believe every word Dominic threw at him. He started rejecting roles even without bothering to consult Dominic, feeling he wasn’t good enough for the part. His self-esteem fell every day to the point where he honestly started wishing that one of these times, in his rages, Dominic would kill him. He began to believe that everyone would be happier if he was dead.

Dominic got offered a part in a British-made movie. Billy, luckily, had finally taken a role in an L.A. theater troupe. As a result he couldn’t go with Dominic. It gave Billy a welcome reprieve from his lover.

Dominic couldn’t help but put Billy down one last time before he left for London.

“You’ll behave while I’m gone?” he asked, jokingly.

“Of course,” Billy said with a laugh.

Dominic leaned in. “Good, because if you don’t, I’ll drop you so fast, you won’t know what hit you. And you know that no one will be there to catch you. No one will ever love you but me,” he sneered.

Billy could see the fire in Dominic’s eyes and the hatred he seemed to have for Billy. He nodded.

Dominic smiled and placed a kiss on Billy’s forehead. “Good to hear. Love you.”

“Love you, too,” he whispered as Dominic boarded the plane.

Billy slowly drove home. The house seemed big and empty without Dominic. As abusive as he was, Billy still loved him and loved his presence.

He was surprised to walk up to the front steps and find Orlando, Viggo, Elijah, and both Seans waiting for him. “Hey, guys. Is there a party I don’t know about?”

“Yeah,” Astin said as he stood up. “We’re here to…to convince you…”

Billy sighed and walked past them. “No need to tell me any more. Seanie. You’re here to tell me to leave, aren’t you?”

“Yes. We are.”

They watched as Billy silently opened the door. When he didn’t slam it in their faces, they followed him in.

“Billy, you’ve changed recently. We can see it. You’ve become withdrawn, you’ve turned down roles you’d be perfect for. What happened?” Orlando asked as he followed Billy into the living room.

Billy sank onto the couch. “Maybe I wasn’t perfect for them,” he muttered as the others sat around him.

“That’s another thing, Bill,” Elijah whispered as he sat beside Billy. “You were perfect for them. Dom’s led you to believe you’re worthless when you aren’t.” He took Billy’s hand and squeezed it. “You aren’t. He’s put you down so much you’re starting to believe everything he’s saying. It’s not true. You have to believe that.”

Billy looked away. He couldn’t look into Elijah’s pain-filled eyes that also showed his deep affection for the older man. “I don’t know what to believe anymore,” he whispered.

“I believe I’m going to fly to London and kick his ass,” Bean muttered to himself.

Viggo exchanged a glance with him. “We’re trying to stop violence, Beansie. No matter how much he may deserve it, beating him up won’t solve anything.”

“No, but it’ll feel good,” Orlando said, ringing his hands.

Billy stood, dropping Elijah’s hand. “I’m fine, really. Thank you, but I’m tired and…and I have to ask you to leave. Please. Before he calls and…” He was terrified. The last thing he wanted was for Dominic to call and hear voices in the background.

“Ok, ok. We’ll go,” Astin said soothingly. He pulled Billy into a hug. “Just…think about what we’ve said and call us. We’re always here for you, no matter what.”

Billy nodded. Each member of the fellowship gave him a hug and offered many words of encouragement.

Elijah buried his face into the crook of Billy’s neck. He tried his best not to sob. He was there to comfort Billy, not the other way around. “We love you, Billy.” He kissed Billy’s cheek as he pulled away.

Billy nodded. “Thanks. Really.” He waved goodbye as his friends slowly made their way towards their cars.

Once they had left, Billy slowly made his way up to his bed. He crawled in and curled up around his pillow. Dominic wouldn’t be gone for long, just four months. Deep down, Billy was glad he was gone. He longed to be away from the screaming and the hitting. He buried his face in his pillow and quickly fell asleep.

Dominic smiled as he walked into the kitchen. “Hey, Bills,” he whispered as he leaned over and kissed Billy on the cheek.

“Hey, you,” Billy replied with a smile.

Dominic pulled Billy to his feet and wrapped his arms around the older man. “I love you, Billy.”

Billy grinned and kissed Dominic on the nose. “Love you, too. “ He moved to get out of Dominic’s arms only to have the younger man pulled back.

“We haven’t had sex in here yet,” he whispered in Billy’s ear.

Billy sighed. “Not now, Dom. Maybe later.”

Dominic tightened his grip around Billy’s waist. “No. Now.”

Billy struggled to release himself. “No, I’d rather not.”

Dominic glared at Billy, his eyes flaring with anger. “We are, whether you want it or not.” He shoved Billy up against the kitchen table. Keeping his iron grip on Billy, Dominic lowered Billy’s jeans and then his. Billy was far from aroused. In fact, he was petrified.

“Please, Dom. I…I don’t want to.”

Dominic moved his hand and placed it around Billy’s neck. “Say ‘yes’,” he ordered.

Billy felt the tears burning his eyes.

“Say ‘yes’.” Dominic tightened his hand.

Billy nodded as the tears started to fall. “Yes,” he whispered.

Dominic smiled and turned Billy around. He quickly and sloppily prepared Billy before slamming his erection deep into Billy’s entrance.

Billy sobbed with each of Dominic’s thrusts. “Please,” he whispered as the tears flowed down his cheek.

Dominic gripped tightly to Billy’s shoulders as he came. “Oh, fuck, Billy,” he groaned. He placed his head on Billy’s shoulder. “I love you,” he whispered as he pulled out and kissed Billy on the cheek.

Billy sniffled. “I…I love you, too,” he whispered.

Dominic kissed him gently on the back of the head before leaving the kitchen.

Billy sank to the ground. He was in a lot of pain and wouldn’t be surprised if he were bleeding. He became dizzy and passed out, forgetting everything that had happened.

He woke up the next morning in bed. “What happened?” he asked hoarsely.

Dominic leaned over and brushed back his hair. “You don’t remember?”

Billy shrugged. “Not really.”

“You fainted. Banged your head. Landed hard on your arse, too. You’ll be ok though.” Dominic leaned over and kissed Billy’s forehead. “You scared me.”

“I’m sorry.” Billy took Dominic’s hand and squeezed it.

“Don’t worry. You’re all better now.”

Billy sat up with a shot. He remembered that conversation with Dominic. More importantly, he remembered the truth. He had since it had happened just three weeks before. He breathed heavily as he ran to the bathroom to check his wounds as they were feeling very sore. He applied an antibiotic to his wounds and sighed.

He suddenly felt nauseous. He flew to the toilet and emptied his stomach. He leaned back once he was down and lightly banged his head against the wall.

"Billy?" came a small voice.

Billy looked up and saw Elijah staring down at him in shock. He hadn't realized his pants were still around his ankles. He looked into Elijah's shocked eyes. "Lij..." he started before breaking down into sobs.

Elijah ran to his side and cradled Billy in his arms. "You have to get out, Billy. Viggo has a place. It's where he keeps his horses. You can stay there. Just...just call him." He held out his cell phone.

Billy nodded as he took the phone and dialed Viggo's number.

“Hello?” came a voice.

“Vig…” he sobbed. “I need to get out. Please…”

“Bill? We’ll be right there.”

Billy dropped the phone and sobbed in Elijah's arms. "Thank you for coming back," he whispered."

Elijah nodded as he held Billy. He was glad Billy had finally admitted that he had to end it now, before something even worse happened.
