Title: It Only Hurts When I Sing

Summary: Dominic made Billy a goodbye CD.
Disclaimer: I tell lies.
Author Notes: Title comes from a line in the Xmen comics that I love and though it fitted well. Plot bunny came jumping along while driving to a friends today. Wee. I like the idea and way of how I was going to write it but I don't really fancy how it turned out lol :) Personally the last line is my favorite.





Before Dom leaves Billy he makes a soundtrack with the following songs:

Dominic believes that Billy's the only reason he's really okay anymore. When Dominic was depressed the only thing that seemed to make him better was Billy. The love and friendship that Billy gave to him lifted him in every way possible. He tried to find it in someone else but no matter where he looked he could only find joy in Billy.

Dominic first wanted to kiss Billy when he came off the plane. He had kissed him before, never more then friends, but something about the moment of seeing Billy for the first time in months made him only want to kiss him and never stop. A passion started to burn into Dominic's skin that longed him to hold on to Billy every second they could. He couldn't understand why he wanted Billy as much as he did. He just hoped Billy felt the same way too.

I've had my share of love affairs but they were nothing compared to this

When they first kissed it burned. Dominic's mind was a blur of smoke and fire and all he could think about was kissing Billy again. To feel the sensation of his lips plastered all over. To feel the touch of his hand gliding under his shirt and down his pants. The passion and the flame sent shivers up his spine and Dominic never thought he could feel any higher then when he's in Billy's grasp.

Dominic watched the plane leave the platform. He watched his Billy disappear into the clouds and tried to ignore the empty feeling that started to fill inside him. He had let Billy escape out of his life and he couldn't remember why he did it. He tried to keep himself from remembering Billy was ever in his life but no matter where he went he saw Billy. He missed him and he didn't know what to do anymore.

Dominic remember the first time he realized he didn't know if he loved Billy anymore. It was a Tuesday and Dominic stared at the phone waiting for Billy to call him. The hours passed and he still waited until finally the phone rang and Billy's voice was at the other end. They talked but not what Dominic waited for and when they hung up neither of them said anything about love.

Dominic stopped calling Billy. He stopped trying to revolve his life around when Billy was available to talk to. He knew he had to stop before it was too late and he fell into a hole that Billy was starting to make. He stopped calling Billy and Billy didn't even seem to notice. He came home back to Dominic and didn't say a word. Dominic didn't want to speak either.

Dominic knew it's over when he woke one morning. There was something in the air and there was something missing in the bed he laid in and it wasn't Billy. He thought of all the reasons in his mind before he starts to pack his things. There's distance and time and the world's just not ready.. he's just not ready. He packs his things before Billy woke up and tried not to think anymore.

Dom burns the CD and puts it in the player before he leaves the house with his bags and when Billy wakes up in the morning it's the only thing he can hear.
