Title: Sing
Author: [Unknown site tag]
Pairing: Billy/Dom
Rating: PG. Cuz I love the word wanker.
Summary: Pickles, Kleenxe boxes, daisy, funktastic and a quilt. Oh and someone sings something.
Disclaimer: Oh I hope this isn't true.
Author Notes: My friend gave me the 5 things in the summary and the song "Sing" by Travis to write a fic about at 4:00am. This is what happened. I know it's really bad. I'm sorry. X_X I don't even want to post it but [livejournal.com profile] iluffhanson is making me. So when you guage your eyes out with a spoon go after her. ;)

Elijah Wood pushed the door of Dom's apartment open with a struggle. The key fit in perfectly and the door unlocked but it wouldn't move from it's place. He already tried shouting Dom's name through the door and ringing his mobile quiet a few times before he realized when Dom said he wanted to be alone, he meant it. He took a deep breath and ran into the door as hard as he could. Finally giving away the door swung open and Elijah came crashing in. He tried to regain his balance by flaring his arms out but it did nothing but make him look hysterically funny to Dom, who was sitting on the couch. Elijah landed on the ground and grumbled to the sound of Dom's giggles.
"Wanker," Elijah said standing up and looking at what was blocking the door. He was surprised to see it was a few boxes of Kleenex and a bundle of pickles. "You could have opened the door for me."
"No, that was much better."
"How the hell could have Kleenex boxes and pickles keep the door shut for that long." He walked over to Dom, who remained lounged on the couch.
"You're a weakling Wood. And you're a bloody twit. I told you to leave me alone."
Elijah looked at the lounging Dom and before doing anything else sat down over his legs on the couch. Dom started to squirm dropping what he had in his hands.
"God, Lij. Go away. Can't you see I'm busy."
Elijah finally took time to notice what Dom had in his hands. He cracked a smile. "You're knitting?"
"Yes, I'm knitting."
"Could you be anymore Gay?"
"I wouldn't talk Lij. You're wearing a pink shirt."
"Pink's a good color to wear Dom. At least I'm not resorting to knitting. You've gone crazy now that Billy isn't around."
Dom shuttered at the sound of Billy's name. "Don't say his name."
"What?" Elijah smirked. "Billy. Billy. Biiiillllyyy. BILLLY!"
Dom abruptly yanked his feet from underneath Elijah, stood up and started to walk towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Elijah called after him getting up.
"If you wont leave then I reckon I should."
Elijah sighed, "Dom, listen. I'm sorry, really. Come talk to me. Everyone's worried about you. You haven't left since you and Billy had a fight. You haven't done anything.."
"I've knitted a quilt." Dom turned around and walked past Elijah and sat back on the couch. Elijah turned around and sat next to him.
"All right, you knitted a quit. Any good reason?"
Dom sighed. "When Mum was little she used to knit all the time whenever she could. She taught us to do it too. She said anytime you felt sad or lonely ... you could take time to make something.. I don't know. It's stupid."
"It's not stupid," Elijah said smiling at Dom.
"Yeah well." Dom shrugged.
"When are you going to leave the house mate?"
"Dunno. Haven't deiced yet."
"You really can't just sit here the rest of your life. You've got things to do, places to be.."
"Everywhere I go I'll see Billy."
"He's not stalking you."
"Not like that Elijah. Everything I see reminds me of him."
"Doesn't everything here do the same?"
"You had to go reminding me of it."
"Well, this is just funktastic."
"Did you just use the word funktasic in a sentence?"
"Er, yeah?"
"You know that isn't a word. And even if it was, you didn't use it correctly."
"Whatever."
They were silent once again.
"When are you going to leave?" Dom questioned.
"When you tell me what's really wrong."
"My boyfriend left me."
"You kicked him out. There has to be some reason. He's just as miserable as you are. Pouting around my flat and frankly I love the man to death but he needs to get out and back in here."
"You wouldn't understand. You've never been in love."
"What makes you say that? Try me Dom. Just try me."
"You can love someone. You can love them so much it hurts and so much that if you even think about life without them you feel like you'll die. You can feel all that way.. but never show it all the same."
"From what I've seen, I think he shows you he loves you a lot."
"It's not that. It's not the hugs, kisses and the sex. It's much more then that. You can't just touch someone and say I love you a few times and expect that to be enough. There has to be something else. With Billy.. he's warm and caring and loving but it's not the same. He just doesn't show it anymore. I used to feel love from him by just looking at him.. but now.. lately.. it's just crazy."
"Have you told him?"
"I shouldn't have to Elijah. He should just know things aren't right. He shouldn't have to wait for me to tell him I'm upset. If he loves me.. he'll know.."
"Mate, I think maybe you're thinking too much into this all. Billy loves you, believe me from the moping he's been doing he's miserable without you. You need to give him another chance. Just pretend he's really dense and missed everything.."
"I don't know Elijah."
"What if he showed you? Showed you he loved you? Would you change your mind?"
"I guess we'll have to see."
Elijah nodded and got up walking towards the door. "Call me mate, when you're ready to face sunlight again."
-
Dom rolled over in bed. He squinted at the light coming from his window. He grumbled incoherently to himself about why leaving the drapes open was a stupid idea. He grabbed the pillow from the other side of the bed - Billy's pillow - and held it over his face.
"You'll never be a morning person, will you?"
The pillow flew off Dom's face quickly as he realized someone else was in the room. He opened his eyes to see Elijah standing at the foot of his bed.
"What the hell?"
"Here." Elijah handed him something. It took Dom a minute to reach out and grab it registering what it was.
"You woke me up to give me a daisy?"
"It's not from me. It's from Billy."
"You told him about what we talked about?"
"Not exactly. I gave him something and he caught on."
"A daisy doesn't solve anything."
"Go walk over to your window."
Dom didn't move but instead looked at Elijah.
"Go already you moron."
Dom pushed off the covers and walked over to his window. He opened it and peered out into the driveway below. Just as he expected Billy was standing in the middle of the driveway looking up at the window.
"Dom?" He called out.
"What do you want Bills?"
"I wanted to sing for you."
"What?"
"Elijah, he gave me this song and I think.. I think I understand."
"I don't think you do. What does singing have to do with anything?"
"Just listen Dom. The song you know, it's like this." Billy walked over to a stereo system he had placed on the street. He flipped the on switch and in a second a song started to fill the outside morning.

Baby, you've been going so crazy
Lately, nothing seems to be going right
Solo, why do you have to get so low
You're so...
You've been waiting in the sun too long
But if you sing, sing, sing, sing, sing, sing
For the love you bring won't mean a thing
Unless you sing, sing, sing, sing ..

Dom stuck his head back into his room.
"He's going to wake the whole bloody block."
"He's singing for you."
"I know."
"You need to go down there."
"I know."
"Why aren't you?"
Dom grinned and walked past Elijah and out the door of his apartment. He ran down the aisle and quickly down the stairs until he made his way to the Lobby. Through it and out the door in a second, he was soon standing at the driveway. Billy stood next to the stereo looking worriedly at the window that belonged to Dom. The music played on.

Colder, crying on your shoulder
Hold her, and tell her everything's gonna be fine
Surely, you've been going to early
Hurry, cause no one's gonna be stopped
But if you sing, sing, sing, sing, sing, sing
For the love you bring won't mean a thing
Unless you sing, sing, sing, sing

"Bills?"
Billy's head snapped forward as Dom approached him.
"Dom! I'm sorry Dom. I didn't know, I should have. I'm sorry, please forgive me."
"You mean it?"
"I wouldn't risk waking up an apartment complex full of people if I didn't."
"I'm sorry Billy. I shouldn't have freaked out over something so stupid."
"It isn't stupid Dom. You're right. Things got so crazy lately with moving in and all that. I think I forgot how much you mean to me. I didn't even realize it until it was almost too late."
"What are we doing to do now?"
"For one you can turn off the blasted song!" Someone's voice yelled from one of the windows. Dom and Billy cracked a smile. Billy reached over and hit off the stereo.
"Can we go back to bed?" Dom asked grinning slightly.
"If that's what you want."
Dom nodded as Billy walked over to him. The two walked towards the apartment building and pasted Elijah in the doorway. He grinned at his two friends as he walked the other way back out the door.
"Just another couple saved by 'Elijah Wood Match Maker Extordnar'!" He picked up the stereo system and walked back to his car.
