Dom looks like he’s just raided a poorly stocked Good Will. His outfit is a pastiche of random articles of clothing, none of which match. One hand is encased in a red mitten, the other in a black glove, Billy’s glove; it‘s a little too small. His hair, originally auburn now partially masked in blonde, sticks out from under the earflaps of a woolen hat and his face is pink, lashed by the wind. Billy walks behind him, carefully placing his feet into each one of the sandy footprints Dom has left for him to follow, Dom’s version of a bread crumb trail.

When Billy finally reaches the other man, Dom has spread himself on the beach, leaving an angel on the shore. The gritty ocean water laps at the soles of his shoes, leaking into his socks. It doesn’t bother him now but Billy knows Dom will have them off the minute they get into the car and he’ll put his bare feet up on the vents, purring as the feeling in his toes returns. “What took you so long Bills? I didn’t think you were still coming .” Dom asked, his eyes gray like the sea stretched out before them.

“Oh come now Dominic, I’d follow you to the ends of the earth. You know that,” Billy replies and lies down next to Dom making his own identical cherub. “Where did you get the God awful hat?”.

Dom rolls over and kisses Billy’s temple. “Your closet.”
