Disclaimer: Well, our world obviously is not a desert planet, which makes this utterly untrue.
Note: This has been on my mind for a while, ever since watching a documentary about a German scientist crossing the Sahara sometime in the 19th century. For some reason that got my AU-loving mind going. I‘ve always wanted to create a world of my own - I hope that this might be it. I‘ve already written a drabble set in this world, but this is the bigger story.

The world is mostly desert. No one can survive on their own, without the support of one of the powerful tribes. But Dominic has to try.

The First Line Challenge

Inspired by the famously exceptionl challenge from Caiden [varietyshow] that he created a few months ago, I propose this new challenge, with new first lines!

The Rules:

1. You must use one of the provided lines, and it must be the very first line of your fic.
2. All pairings and ratings are acceptable.
3. Drabble, one-shot, ficlet, novel, novella, epic, poem, whatever floats your boat.
4. Please post a link in the comments of this post, so after everything's been submitted, I can make a massive rec post.
5. Write as many pieces as you want.
6. Be creative, be weird, stretch the boundries. Try and conquer something you never have before.
7. The only alterations that can be changed are "he's" to "she's" and any tense changes.
8. Don't change dialogue to prose, or prose to dialogue. Think of it as a challenge.
9. This isn't a rule, but it would be cool if you could leave a little shout-out in your A/N to either the challenge, or to me for the first line. But you don't have to, but it would be a nice gesture.
10. Any further questions can be left in a comment, and I'll do my best to help you out!

Ok, now that the formalities are over, onto the sentences...

1. "How do you manage to take your thoughts and turn them into beautiful words?"
2. And then the penny dropped.
3. Everything is dead when I'm not with you.

6. He drives me insane, but I wouldn't have him any other way.

12. Character A cursed the sky for being so blue.
13. There's water as far as the eye can see.
