Title: An Almost Perfect Momment
Author: [livejournal.com profile] sheselectric
Pairing: Billy/Dom
Rating: PG
Summary: An almost perfect end to a perfect day.
Notes: This was inspired yesterday when I saw the title on a book cover. Then me and [livejournal.com profile] midnightbex scurried to a Ben and Jerry's to get me a fruit smoothie and she procedded to help me think of a plot. Then I wrote it when I got home. :) Thanks to Jessica for the quick beta and for all the help. :-*

The roof at the hotel was full of people and the sound of music and voices. Dom sat on the roof's edge with his feet dangling over the side and a beer bottle clutched tightly in his hand. He occasionally turned around to see his friends scattered around talking and enjoying the night’s success. They'd returned from the fan's Oscar party only a few hours ago and everyone soon found themselves gathered on the hotel's roof in good cheer.

Dom turned back and looked over the skyline of LA.

"Hey there Dommie."

Dom grinned at the sound of the voice behind him but didn't bother to turn around. "Hey Bills."

Billy straddled the marble and swung his legs over the side, sitting besides Dom with his own bottle of beer and a wide grin on his face. "Best fucking night ever."

Dom laughed and held up his bottle towards Billy. "I'll cheer to that."

The two beer bottles clinked and their owners took drinks from both. Dom put his down and looked back out onto LA. The back of his heels bounced off the back of the marble stone as he swung them. "This really was the best.. everything."

Billy nodded. "I'd say that. Look at what we've got," he said and looked to Dom, "friendships, successful careers, loved ones.. we've got it all."

Dom smiled and took another drink from his bottle, his shoulder absentmindedly bumping into Billy's. He's right, Dom thought, we do have it all. Except me.

"You okay Dom?" Billy's voice broke through his thoughts.

"I'm fine Billy, just a long day really." He stretched his arms above his head. And the fact that I don't have you, he thought to himself as his arms lowered, one dangling close to hitting Billy's shoulder. He almost let it fall against it like he'd normal done but there was something odd about the moment and his arm fell to his side.

"It has been a long day. Want to go out to eat tomorrow? I'm not going back home until next week now."

Dom nodded. "That'd be fine." Is Ali coming? Dom thought taking another sip.

"Mind if Ali comes?"

Of course I do, Dom tried to silence the voice in his head, she's stealing you away from me. I can't even enjoy any of this because I just can't help thinking you're more interested in enjoying it with her rather than with me. I'm so fucking jealous. "Not at all Billy." Dom lied and put down his beer bottle.

"Good. She'll love it, she loves when the three of us go out to eat."

Before Dom could say anything else Ali walked up behind them and placed her hands on Billy's shoulder. "I'm heading back down stairs." She smiled at Dom and waited behind Billy as he stood up.

He looked at Dom and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Isn't this just really the prefect moment?" He smiled and wished Dom goodnight before heading back with Ali through the crowd of people and towards the door.

Dom watched him leave and when he was out of view he turned back to the skyline. He closed his eyes and whispered.

"Almost."
