Merry's Love For Pippin

Billy wasn’t in love with Dom. Dom was a guy and that would consist of one of them being a girl. Since that wasn’t going to happen the idea was out of it. It’s not that he was against guys loving guys, but well, he just didn’t think Hollywood would approve of it.

But Dom was everything he wanted, needed. Dom took care of him like Merry took care of Pippin. Billy and Dom were Merry and Pippin. Merry loved Pippin and Pippin loved Merry. Which meant that in thought Dom loved Billy and Billy loved Dom.

But in reality it meant that they acted like they loved each other. No wait, they did, but “Not like that.” Which Billy still didn’t know where he thought of that one. Because it was so painfully obvious that he did love Dom, like that.

So in order to hide it he got a girl friend. She was pretty no doubt and definitely a normal girl. He liked her but not like that. Her name was Ali and she was more of a best friend than a girl friend. She understood why he couldn’t fall in love with Dom. She agreed to blow the minds of the world. And they were enjoying it together.

Only problem was that Dom had started to believe it. He wasn’t talking to Billy as much, hardly answered Billy’s calls, never wanted to hang out, even claimed to have a date.

“Why do you keep avoiding Dom?” That was Ali. He sighed and looked over. “Billy why don’t you just tell him?”

“Right, he thinks I hate him, Ali.”

“You don’t know until you ask.” Why did women have to be right 99 % of the time? That’s not fair to all of the men in the world.

“Thanks, Ali.” Billy replied laying his head in his arms. He felt Ali rub his shoulders. “Normally that’d work with everyone, but I can read Dom. I’ve known him for five or four years, Ali.”

“Just try.” Ali exclaimed turning his chair around. She pulled him up and hugged him. “For me, alright?”

Billy nodded and took a deep breath. “I just have to find out how to do it.”

*~*

Billy looked around and saw that he was alone. Dom was supposed to be here in 10 minutes. So why had he gotten here so early again? He was nervous beyond reason and almost wished that Dom wouldn’t appear. That way he wouldn’t have to tell him everything.

That also meant that all of his butterflies were a waste. Gay couples danced around him. They all looked so happy to be together. Kissing, touching, grinding. All of it was theirs and no one was laughing at them.

“Hey, beautiful.” Billy looked up and saw a tall man. The man leaned on the bar nodding to him, “You look lonely, can I help you?”

Billy blushed and couldn’t answer. The man reached forward caressing his cheek. Billy tensed he didn’t want this. He did, but not from him. But Billy being Billy didn’t stop him.

The man stood to his full height and ran his fingers up Billy’s arm. “Let me help you in ways girls can’t.” Billy looked down to the floor not able to look the man in the eye. If Dom hated him then he should let other men have him, whether he liked it or not.

The man’s hands traveled down to his trousers and one large hand squeezed his bulge. “That’s it, just relax, sweetie.”

Billy’s eyes flew open and he tried to pull away. He wasn’t going this far. “No. Not there.” Billy stuttered green eyes were wide.

“You don’t seem to understand, boy, what I want I get.” The man snarled and yanked Billy close to him. “So do me a favor and let me have you.”

“Dude, he told you no.”

A hoarse accented voice broke through the loud music and shouting. It was a voice that got whispered in Billy’s ear or called Billy’s name. It was the voice that sent shivers up Billy’s spine and made Billy melt into muk on the ground.

The man’s grip on Billy was gone and Billy was pushed to the ground. “Excuse me? Who do you think you are, boy? Bah, you’re no older than the idiot on the ground.”

Blue eyes flared with anger in the dark air of the bar. Knuckles were heard cracking. Billy watched in amazement as a fist came out and knocked the man over beside him. “First off, the “boy” is no idiot. Second,” Dom’s form appeared in the dim light. He knelt down in front of them and hefted the man up by his shirt. “I don’t appreciate good for nothing bastards like you picking on him. So either apologize and leave or allow me to mess up your face.”

The man glared and tried to pull away but Dom’s grip was tighter. Dom stood lifting the man up with him. “Third, I’m Dom Monaghan. Ever seen Lord of the Rings? Read the fanfiction? Do you know what happens when Pippin gets hurt?” The man shook his head. Dom’s gaze hardened with anger. “His Merry comes and beats the shit of who ever did it. Then he breaks all of the doers bones and if there is anything left, hangs him by his neck and beats him again.”

Billy’s eyes were as wide as saucers now. He propped himself up on his elbows. What was Dom doing? The man stared wide-eyed and put his hands up in defense. It was obvious that Dom’s words had scared him. Dom let him go. “Now. Run.”

The man stumbled off quickly leaving Dom laughing at him. Dom turned to Billy and pulled him up, “Man, you really need to learn to stick up for yourself.” Billy nodded silently not able to make eye contact. “You alright, Pip?” Dom cupped Billy’s face in his hand. “He didn’t violate you did he?” Billy shook his head.

Dom let go and turned away from Billy. “Why did you want me to come?” Billy saw Dom’s slightly larger frame shiver. “To make a fool of me again?”

“Dom?”

Dom turned around, “Where are the camera’s, Billy? Where is Ali?” His eyes had softened. Dom looked…hurt. “What are you going to do now? Let me kiss you then tell the press that I forced you?”

Billy bit his lip and turned his head. “No.”

“Then what?”

“Dom, there are no cameras.”

“I’d like to believe that, Billy, I really would. But a man can only take so much. And I’ve taken all I can, Billy. So this is your one last chance.”

Billy took a deep breath unsure of what to say. Sure he knew what he wanted to say, but he also knew what should be said. “Dommie you haven’t exactly made it easy on me. You do realize what will happen if the press finds out? We’ll be laughed at.”

“So? They can laugh all they want, Billy. We’d have each other if that ever happened. You just saw that I’d protect you.” Dom replied glaring. “I want to know one thing, do you like me or not?”

“No. I don’t.”

Dom sighed and turned away getting off the stool. He stood facing the door for a few seconds then clenched his fists. Dom turned back around for maybe a second and Billy watched a tear run down his cheek. “I..I see. Well I must be going.”

Billy watched him leave the bar. Billy banged his head on the table and started to cry. He’d messed it all up. What was he thinking? Yes he bloody liked Dom. He loved him more than anyone.

Billy sulked for a while and felt someone grab his shoulder. “Go away..”

“Look, boy.” It was that man again. “What are you still doing here?”

Billy lifted his head and shrugged tears still falling. “What you still want me?” Billy turned to the man and spread his legs. “Then take me. I was stupid enough to loose the one I loved to begin with so take me.”

“What the hell are you blubbering about?” The man pulled Billy up harshly by the arm. “Go out there and get your man.”

“Who? Dom? No. He left because I told him no.” Billy choked out hanging his head.

“Get your sorry Scottish Arse out of here. Your Merry hasn’t left.” Billy lifted his head confused. “He’s out there pacing the gravel.” The man pushed Billy forward out the door.

*~*

Billy shivered in the cold air and looked around. He heard flying gravel over to his left. “Dom?” The gravel stopped and no one spoke or made a sound. “Merry, it’s Pippin.”

Dom appeared and frowned. His face was wet from tears. “I told you that was your last chance now leave me alone.”

“No. I’m not.” Billy replied walking over to him. He grabbed Dom’s hand and held it in his. “Merry, I’m scared. I don’t know what do to. I know that inside I love you but I’m frightened. Merry can you help me.” Tears formed in Billy’s eyes and he said in a Pippin voice. “Everyone says we can’t love each other but I do. What do we do, Merry?”

Dom licked his lips and ran a finger down Billy’s cheek then reached up and caressed Billy’s hair. “We don’t listen, Pip, we love each other anyway.” He pulled Billy close and held him. Billy grasped onto Dom’s shirt and started to sob. “Shh, Pippy,” Dom whispered rocking him back and forth. “Merry’s here. It’s ok.”

“Why though? After all I’ve done to you? You still come back and still hold me, rock me. You still call me Pippin.”

Dom laughed and rubbed Billy’s back soothingly. “That’s what Merrys do. Merrys love their Pippins no matter how stupid they act. And we always will, Billy. I love you Billy. I can’t help it and I can’t keep running away from it.”

“So you’re saying we should just forget the world and be together?” Billy leaned back his head and stared up into Dom’s eyes.

In response Dom bent his head and kissed Billy on the lips.
