Title: Night Time
Author:
eff_reality (formerly
bitchcat )
Rating: R for profanity (at least that's what the MPAA uses for "fuck")
Summary: Billy and Dom go camping. Things happen at night. Meant to take place in the immediate present.
Feedback: is tasty.
Warning(s): Brief quasi-mention of Heath Ledger's death. I know that upsets some people.
Note: I feel very unsure about the ending of this fic. I planned on it being a short fic that meshes brief moments together, but as I was writing it, I felt this sudden urge to make it really angsty and turn it into a long, tortured fic where they end up camping for a week. That said, if a sequel is desired, let a bitch know.
Two pairs of startled eyes stared down at the small, pathetic, folded up pile of red tent. The wrinkled vinyl-y material stared back up at them from the small stretch of green grass illuminated by their campfire.
Dom's eyes went impossibly wider as he heard the material squeak at him in mocking laughter. He looked up. No, wait. That was Billy.
Billy was squeaking at him in mocking laughter from behind a pale slender hand. Tears began to fill his boyish green eyes as he shook with the force of his muffled giggles.
Dom looked down at the tent in disbelief. "I swear, it looked twice as big on the web site!"
At this, Billy let his hand drop and his head fall back as his eyes shut and he cackled openly up at the stars.
***
Dom inhaled the scent of rain on his tenth deep sigh of the last five minutes.
Billy echoed the sigh from behind him, melodramatically.
The corners of Dom's mouth quirked up involuntarily. "I'm sorry, Bill."
"'s alright, Dom," Billy replied through a smile, as hopelessly awake as he was.
A light but insistent rain pattered on the material of the tent surrounding them.
Dom closed his eyes in determination and snuggled further into the sleeping bag.
Billy hummed four familiar notes into the silence, and Dom lost it.
The theme to Brokeback.
They both wheezed with laughter.
"You wish, wanker," Dom muttered slyly.
Billy sighed, coming down. "I suppose that was in bad taste, considering."
"Yeah."
"Very sad."
"Yeah."
Billy maneuvered his hand into his sleeping bag to scratch a persistent itch on his thigh.
Dom closed his eyes again and smiled. "This is nice though, isn't it? The silence."
"Yeah," Billy breathed, extracting his hand and making himself comfortable again.
"I'm really glad you came, Bill."
"Mmm." Then two or three moments later: "Sleep now."
***
Dom woke up on his other side. No, wait. Was woken up. His eyes half-opened into cobalt blue slits, seeing white, flashes of light brown moving, pink right in front of him. Sweet, warm breath on his face. Playful lips moving lazily under his chin.
"Hmm? What the f--" His voice was high-breathy with sleep.
"Shh."
Then green. Green-green.
Billy's eyes widened as he lifted his head to meet Dom's eyes. "Go back to sleep," he breathed into his mouth.
"Bill, what are you--" Eyes struggling to adjust to the growing daylight -- orange becoming yellow -- filtering through a slit in the tent's opening.
"Pretend it's a dream. Please."
"You--" A soft, insistent mouth shut him up. All the breath rushed out through Dom's nostrils. He pulled them apart, sucking in air. "Bill--" He licked his lips. "--I don't kn--" Billy reeled him in again with a warm hand on the back of his neck. Dom clenched his eyes at Billy's fingers twining in his hair, and let out a loud, muffled moan at Billy's tongue curling into his mouth.
Suddenly, Dom was on his back and Billy was flush on top of him, trailing kisses along his jaw, the sleeping bag stubborn between them. In spite of his confusion, Dom freed his hands from the thick flannel to thrust them in Billy's hair. He tilted his head back, opening his eyes wide as Billy bit right to the left of his Adam's apple. "Fuck," he exhaled. His grip tightened. "Why now?"
Billy lifted his head up a bit. "What?" He cradled the right side of Dom's neck and pressed a gentle kiss underneath his ear.
"Why now?" Dom repeated, almost whining. "Why not--. Fuck."
"Don't talk. Don't say anything." Billy's soft urges drifted into his ear and across his brain like clouds. "Just close your eyes. And let it happen."
Dom let the world go redblack behind his eyelids. "Okay," he breathed.

Well, I don't think that you are a bitch, but I wouldn't mind a sequel. I think that Dommie deserves an answer to his question, don't you?
Thank you!

I like it on its own too. I think I might do a sequel though, but one that could also be a stand-alone fic? I dunno.
Thanks for the lovely feedback :)

thank you!!
I am definitely in the process of writing a sequel, but it's taking some time. Getting angsty and involved. :)
I'll be sure to post as soon as it's done.

BTW, I noticed you were linking to individual stories on there -- I do have a Fic Index (http://eff-reality.livejournal.com/8564.html), if it makes things easier for you. :)
