--Fire--

It was always the fire, the heat that Dom felt accustomed to. Whether he was filming on the beach, stressed and dying of thirst or when he was surfing and his face flushed with the sun, paddling and paddling towards the wave as it grew higher and higher, Dom was at home.

Sitting with friends at the bonfire, Dom never glanced away from the fire they had built, even when his name was called. After a few useless tries, his name faded into the night, leaving only the crackles and distant singing of the rest of the people there to be heard. And then came the drums. They started slowly, sensually, then gradually increased as if trying to get his attention.

Watch and learn, Monaghan.

The words hit Dom like a firebolt, sending rolls and rolls of heat through his body. He looked up, over the fire to see the fire not dancing in the little hole they had dug, but in the eyes of his lover. The smile forming on the lips a few inches beneath made it feel as if Dom were standing directly in the middle of the flames, letting each one lick his body in a painful, yet pleasurable way.

The smile grew wider and Dom's cheeks flushed, watching his lover's hips dance to the rhythms of the drums. His cheeks flushed to a crimson when he saw that he was actually unable to look away.

"Come dance with me."

Dom licked his lips, reddened and chapped by the heat of the flames as he stood. Now only if he could keep the blood rushing too hot from his head to his toes, he might be able to just dance badly enough to have Billy take them home and start a rhythm of their own.

He looked up, over the fire to see the fire not dancing in the little hole they had dug, but in the eyes of his lover. Wonderful. This is so evocative.
