--Air--

The wind would rush alongside Dom as he rode further and further down the hill, windows open, air flowing freely through the cabin of the car. New Zealand was the perfect place with the perfect weather this time of year. But he still couldn't remember why he was here and not back in L.A...not back in Hawaii where he should be.

He took many planes that summer, just flying around, seeing things he never thought to see before. But he saw them. And each flight, soft and mellow or tumultuous and hasty, led him all back to one place in the end: Scotland.

Whether it was a cool breeze near the water, or just a fan inside Billy's house when it just got too hot to bear, there was always laughter on the wind. Dom would mention something about a girl he had seen that day, walking around with flowing red hair and violet eyes and Billy would laugh, saying he needed to stop staring at an issue of Playboy for so long. Either way, the two friends would lay on the floor, voices rushing from their lungs and passing into the atmosphere as if they were trying to press their words into a memory. It was at this time Dom reminded himself why he had wasted [Wasted? Never...] so much money on these trips.

It was very windy the day he arrived in Glasgow for the last time that summer. His hair was blowing about, like a balloon as it was whisked away from a child's small fingers, but not once did he pay notice. He never noticed the way the biting cold nipped at his cheeks, reddening them before he even got a chance to smile and watch Billy walk alongside him for the eightieth time that week, slowly pacing their way down a cobbled sidewalk and towards the airport.

This time Dom would be boarding the flight, staring back at those eyes as he smiled and waited in line. A brush of kids would rush past, igniting a small breeze that didn't bite at his cheeks, nor mess with his hair. No, just a cool wind that softened the goodbye to a small gasp of air and a kiss...a promise that there would be another meeting and another part of the world to see.
