I'm a bit shy about putting this out here but I'll give it a try...

Disclaimer: I don't them, have never met them. This never happened as far as I'm aware. No harm meant.
A/N: My first time writing Monaboyd although I've written in plenty of other fandoms before. Written for a very good friend of mine.

Quiet moments, like right now with his head pillowed on a shoulder, were his favourites. He enjoyed the feather-light drift of fingers down his back, so subtle he might think they were his t-shirt moving in the wake of the fan but he knew that it wasn't.

These were the moments that Billy cherished the most. Dom, when awake, was larger than life. Constantly in motion, taking the piss faster than Billy could think at times, Dom kept Billy on his toes and he appreciated it. He did, truly, but he also cherished these moments when Dom would brush his fingertips down his back or across his arm, walking so lightly. "Bug kisses" he'd call it and Billy smiled as he remembered.

Dom must have felt his face change with the smile because the light touches stopped and Billy shifted, as if he were just waking. When Billy opened his eyes, Dom's face was so very close. For a moment, Billy wanted to lean in that hairs-breadth and touch, lip to lip. That would be a brilliant way to start the morning and wasn't that a shock? He'd never had these sorts of feelings for another bloke but Dom… Dom was Dom, really. That's all there was to those feelings. Dom was more than a gender. Dom was a bit like whisky, water-of-life.

As Billy compared Dom to whisky and life, the moment of eye contact stretched on, breath puffing from one set of lips to the other.

It would be a tip of the chin for the lips to touch.

It would be one tiny little gesture, an inch or two separating them.

It might as well have been a chasm. That inch held the difference between remaining mates, best mates, and becoming more.

The moment continued, eyes staring unblinking at one another and Billy's eyes ached to blink, to restore a bit of moisture but then, the moment… and Dom blinked. Billy quickly followed suit. The press of lips against his sent his eyelids flying open again.

For all those long mornings spent staring, those moments that stretched to infinity and beyond, in the blink of an eye, they became more.
