A couple of days later, Dom seemed to have forgotten the incident with Elijah, and both he and Billy were having a fantastic time together. Billy had been lonely for such a long time, and having his house filled with Dom’s laughter was the best sound he had heard in a long time. He didn’t even mind finding random rings around the house, or cleaning up after Dom. He was just glad to have him there with him. Dom felt the same. He had missed Billy. He was his best friend, and he hated not being able to spend time with him whenever he wanted. He considered moving in, but decided that it was a little inconsiderate to ask. But he’d definitely say yes if Billy asked him to. That was certain.

Later that evening, Dom had challenged Billy to a game of truth or dare. Billy refused profusely, stating that he wasn’t a school girl, or a drunken teenager. Despite turning down Dom’s idea, within the next ten minutes he was spinning the bottle. Dom had insisted that he didn’t need the bottle seeing as there was only two of them, but Billy claimed that if it was going to be played, it had to be played properly, bottle and forfeits and all. They both sat on the lounge floor, cross-legged, with the bottle between them.

"Okay, your spin Dom." Billy was a little drunk, so he didn’t feel as silly about playing truth or dare as he thought he would.

"Righty-ho." Dom span the bottle and it pointed towards Billy. "Aha!" Dom cheered, and gave Billy a quizzical look as he asked him, "truth or dare?"

Billy had already drunk some out-of-date milk, and eaten an unidentified piece of fluff, so he wasn’t too keen on the ‘dare’ aspect.

"Truth, please."

Dom sat, eyeing up Billy, trying to think up a first-class ‘truth.’ Then his recent situation came to mind as perfect inspiration.

"By Jove! I think I’ve got it, ol’ chap!" As soon as alcohol touched Dom’s lips, he had to say at least one phrase in some sort of abstract dialect, and that night it was early twentieth century English. Billy smiled and waited his challenge.

Dom made himself comfortable, and then asked Billy the question.

"Out of me, Orlando, Sean, Viggo, and Freaky Eyes..." Dom chuckled as Elijah’s new nickname amused him.

"...yes?" Billy already knew the question, but for some reason wanted to hear Dom ask it.

"...which one of us is most handsomer?" Dom’s inebriated state of mind stood out as he asked.

Billy smiled. "You know its you, Dom." Billy playfully punched Dom’s shoulder, and Dom giggled.

"Okay," sighed Billy. "My turn." He span the bottle and it landed on him again.

"Aha!" Dom cheered again. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Right... same sorta question, just with a twist." Dom slurred a little, but continued his question. "Outta us guys, which one would you... y’know..." and with that, Dom made extremely obscene gestures with his hands.

Billy blushed. He knew the question would come out eventually. He dipped his eyes towards the bottle, unable to keep eye contact with Dom, and said in almost a whisper, "you."

Dom giggled again, and Billy realised that Dom wasn’t taking this seriously. Billy relaxed a little, and thought that maybe Dom wouldn’t remember all this in the morning. And even if he did, they were both drunk. That would definitely account for their behaviour.

Dom span the bottle and it landed on himself. He looked up to Billy and waited for the question.

"Truth or dare?" Billy was getting a little tired, but loved to see the excitement creep across Dom’s face as the bottle spun around.

"Dare."

"Okay, drink five of these." Billy walked over to the drinks cabinet and took out a bottle of Aftershock. He took out five shot glasses and sat back down opposite Dom. If Dom was drunk enough, maybe he’d forget what Billy had admitted to him. Billy poured a generous amount of liquid into each of the glasses and pushed them towards Dom. "In your own time." Billy grinned.

Dom’s eyes were wide. He looked a little scared, but he wasn’t one to refuse a dare, especially as the forfeit was to pay £100. He picked up one of the shots and knocked it back. His already intoxicated state made it easier to take, so he downed the remaining shots and attempted to look Billy straight in the eye. He failed miserably.

Billy laughed and span the bottle. "Dom, this is the last time now." Billy looked over at Dom who was amusing himself with trying to use the shot glasses as monocles. Billy took that as an agreement. He watched as the bottle spun and landed on himself. Dom wiggled with excitement.

"Dare please." Billy thought he might as well bite the bullet. Nothing could be worse than that milk.

Dom had to make this one a good one if it was the last one of the night. He wanted it to be such a good one, that Billy would have to refuse it and then pay Dom £100. Dom sniggered to himself and decided upon the dare.

Billy watched Dom’s eyes as a mischievous glint appeared. He knew that Dom would cook up something that only extremely drunk people would want to attempt... and he wasn’t that drunk. So with the Refusal Speech already prepared in his head, Billy waited for the unmentionable dare.

"Got it." Dom announced. "You have to touch one part of me without using your hands, arms, legs or feet."

Billy looked at Dom with a confused look. This didn’t sound like a very challenging dare. He shrugged and moved a little way towards Dom. "Any part of you?" Billy asked, trying to decide how to approach this dare.

"Yep. Any part." Dom grinned as he watched Billy’s face become more and more frustrated. "But remember, no hands, arms, legs or feet."

After much evaluation, Billy decided to just head butt Dom in the chest. However, he misjudged the distance between himself and Dom and head butted Dom so hard that they fell in a big heap on the floor.

"Oomph." Billy had landed completely onto Dom. Billy looked at Dom. Dom looked at Billy. And then, both started giggling hysterically. After a few minutes of calming down, Billy was about to get up when Dom grabbed his arm.

"No. I’m comfy."

"Well, I’m not," Billy laughed, and got up. He pulled Dom up with him and they both slumped onto the sofa. Billy looked over to Dom, whose eyes were firmly shut. He smiled and just sat watching him for a while. He wished he knew what Dom was dreaming about. He seemed so peaceful. Something inside Billy had changed. Ever since Dom had told him that he had feelings for 'a guy'. He so desperately wished that it was him. But he knew it wouldn’t happen. At least he still had Dom as his best friend. He turned to face Dom further so he could watch him better, but Dom felt Billy’s weight shifting. He opened his eyes and looked directly into Billy’s.

"Yes, Boyd?" Despite the weariness in his eyes, he didn’t lose eye contact. The sparkle was bright, and Billy melted. Maybe he shouldn’t give up so easily. Besides, he now knew that Dom didn’t just like girls. He rested his hand on Dom’s knee, but stayed silent. He wanted to see how Dom would react. The effect of the alcohol was wearing off, but Billy still had the confidence to edge closer to Dom. Dom looked from Billy’s eyes, down to Billy’s hand on his knee, and back up to Billy’s eyes. This happened repeatedly until Billy squeezed his knee and Dom shrieked a little. Not in a freaked out way. In a ‘ooh, that tickled’ way. Dom looked at Billy, and Billy blushed.

"I’m sorry Dom." Billy moved his hand away from Dom’s knee, only to have it stopped midway in the air.

"No, I’m sorry, Bills." Dom let go of Billy’s hand and rested his head back against the sofa. "I’ve taken advantage of you. You’ve been there for me through everything, and I’ve not once said thank you."

"Well, actually Dom, you have." Billy thought back to when Dom told him about what happened with Elijah.

"Yeah, but that once. Only one time since I’ve been here. I suck as a friend, Bills. I’m surprised you put up with me like this."

Billy put an arm around Dom’s shoulders. "I’m not going anywhere. You don’t need to thank me for anything. You being here is the only ‘thanks’ that I need. I’ve missed you." And with that he kissed Dom sloppily on the cheek.

Dom giggled and licked Billy on his cheek. "I missed you too." Billy wiped the excess Dom-saliva off his cheek and grinned. He turned to give Dom another wet kiss on his cheek, but Dom had the exact same idea. They both leant in at the same time, eyes closed, not knowing what they were in for. Their lips met, and for a few moments they stayed locked in a kiss. Dom broke off the kiss.

"Oh... oh man." He stood up and paced around the lounge. Billy watched him fearfully. He didn’t know who had initiated the kiss. He didn’t know what Dom was going to say and do. But all he knew was that he wanted to kiss Dom again. Dom stopped in his tracks. He turned to face Billy and bit his lip. "I’m going to go to bed."

Billy nodded and watched Dom walk towards the staircase. He didn’t even know if Dom would remember this the next morning. He heard Dom climb the stairs and close his door. Billy closed his eyes and fell asleep on the sofa.
