Part 5 (Version 1)
Dom got into the car and turned on the ignition before turning to his house and questioning what he had just done. He was having an internal battle of the sexes.
His feminine half was telling him that Billy could not be forgiven, while his masculine half was saying, “You love him. That all that matters.” Who had told him those stupid but wise words? Orlando.
“That motherfucker.” Dom said to himself. Orlando always said the right thing. Just at the wrong time. His words would come back to you when you least expected it. Or when they were most needed but just when you didn’t want it.
Then he drove. He drove all over LA. Anywhere, but not home.
By this time Billy was worried. He had tried Dom’s cellphone numerous times, but it was off.
Billy had decided to go to bed. It had been a long day a day he didn’t want to relive. Ever. He thought about telling Miranda that it was over, but he couldn’t think of the words. He didn’t really love her. He had been attracted to women once. Until he met Dom. He felt like he had known Dom his entire life, but he could never manage to understand why he had suddenly changed from Straight to gay. Maybe he was bisexual, he once thought. And that’s when he ‘met’ Miranda. He didn’t even really know at the time if he loved her, but he wanted to see if he really was gay.
The door opened and Dom smiled at him.
“I’m sorry Billy.” Dom tried to find the words, but all that came was: “I really do love you Bill.”
“I… well, I don’t think I couldn’t ever love you Dom.”
“Thanks.” Such a lose word. Dom thought. Everyone seems to use it. For anything. Did he mean it?
“Dom, can I ask you a question?”
“You already did Bill. But yes, go on.”
“Oh, right.” Dom sat on the couch and Billy Followed him. “Have you ever thought that you weren’t… well… gay?”
Dom hesitated for a minute. Then he turned to Billy and looked at him with loving eyes.
“When I was younger, I never used to think I’d ever be gay. Girls were so pretty. But, I couldn’t understand why I would never get on with them as well as my ‘boy’ friends. Then, 4 years ago, I met you. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.”
“Well…” Billy began on a conversation that lasted all night. Billy finally understood. You can’t be gay or straight by yourself. You have to find the person who makes you feel happy. Whether they be female or male, is up to the person who finds you. You never find them. They find you.
“I love you.” Billy said finally before kissing Dom.
“I love you.” Dom said before falling asleep on the couch, with his head resting on Billy’s shoulder.
*the end*
Part 5 (Version 2)
“I don’t know! Don’t look at me!” Dom said looking at Billy.
“Well wasn’t yesterday the 28th of January?” Billy said. “And wasn’t there another fellowship birthday last year?”
“Yeah…” Dom started. “Mine…”
“Exactly.” Orlando said joining the conversation.
“Well…” Billy started. “This was supposed to be Dom’s birthday ‘surprise’ but it ended up being a joint one. After I heard Elijah hadn’t seen Orlando for a couple of weeks, I deicded to give Orlando a call and see what I could organise.”
“And…” Orlando said, stepping into the circle the other three were in, “We got talking and we decided to organise a birthday they would never forget.”
“So… what do you think?”
“Fuck you Billy. Fuck you Orlando.” Elijah said grabbing Orlando head and hitting against his own before giving him a massive hug.
“You guys are seriously screwed up in the head man.” Dom said grabbing Billy and giving him a hug.
“You need to get a life.”
