4 - Timing
Looking helplessly around the room, Dom racks his brain for something, anything to help him. The tension that’s been sitting so patiently and quietly in an icy lump in the pit of his stomach has suddenly exploded, rushing through his long limbs. This isn’t the time to do this. In the history of bad timing, this is definitely in the top five of things not to do at a time like this. He can’t. It’ll ruin everything. But now panic is beginning to set in. Dom finds himself pondering questions that he’s been unable to ask for far too long. Years. Finally, one lodges in his mind and refuses to budge. If not now, when? This is his last chance.
Looking around the small space, Dom wonders if the walls are closing in, because the room feels smaller than it did five minutes ago. It’s almost time. He has to say something, or swallow it forever. Can he not say a word, and suffer in silence? Surely Billy would figure out that something is wrong, but then it would be too late. Far too late. It’s now or never.
The decision is made. Something has be done, even if it’s the wrong thing, at the worst possible moment. To hold back, say nothing, to do nothing, will kill Dom, one long, excruciating minute at a time. Better to have it all out now, and make the death quick. Swift like a blade. Sensing that something is bothering Dom, Billy steps closer and lays a hand on his arm, a soft smile teasing at the corner of his sweet mouth.
“Forgive me,” Dom requests in a raspy, low voice and then pushes Billy against the wall.
Lips meeting in a fierce, desperate kiss, Dom’s long tongue slides between Billy’s shocked, bow shaped lips, eagerly exploring and tasting while their bodies press together firmly from nose to knees. Dom’s erection is unmistakable as he rocks his hips and threads his long, elegant fingers through Billy’s ginger hair, holding their mouths together. Clinging to Billy like a lifeline, Dom feasts on his soft, cherubic lips, feeling the scratchy wool of Billy’s kilt brush against his trousers and against the palm of his hand where he’s firmly cupping the curve of Billy’s arse. Whimpering into Billy’s mouth, Dom nibbles at Billy’s lower lip, drawing it into his mouth for a brief suck.
All too aware of the tension in his best mate’s body, Dom finally pulls away, reluctantly meeting Billy’s wide, stunned eyes as he pants for breath. Lips rosy and swollen, Billy sags against the wall, blinking and shaking his head in disbelief. Before a word can be spoken, before the shock wears off, Dom spins on his heel and escapes from the room. Pushing past Elijah and Sean, both clad in crisply pressed tuxedos, Dom runs at nearly full speed from the horrible mess he’s just created, a ragged sob tearing from his throat as he throws himself against the double doors at the front of the building, frantic to escape.
Running down the street to where he parked his car, Dom can’t make himself look back at the building, where Billy is just minutes from making, in Dom’s opinion, the biggest mistake of his life. It’s too much to hope that Billy would be following him.
Of course, there was certainly a better time for Dom to announce his romantic feelings for Billy than on his wedding day, right before he’s about to walk down the aisle. Even though he feels enormously guilty for the way he just acted, ruining Billy’s special day, Dom can’t make himself be sorry for what he’s just done.
Maybe someday Billy will forgive him, but Dom's not so sure.

He shouldn't feel sorry at all! Better late than never. It'll give Billy something to think about when the Minister asks if someone knows any reason why the couple shouldn't be married.
Fabulous job as usual one down, how many more to go?

Thank you, sweetie. It's good to see you again.
Dom may have had the worst timing, but it had to be done. Hrm. Food for thought for Billy, not to mention the taste of Dom in his mouth.
One down!

Errm.. I got carried away a bit, obviously. What I wanted to say is: someday maybe having to lament lost chances is one of my greatest fears. That's why I prefer living on the fast lane. That's why I'm sympathising with Dommie, even if I was cringing inwardly when I realized where this was leading. Poor Dommie. But I know it won't be any easier for Billy..
Difficult thing, this. But I like that :)

I hate leaving things unresolved, but that's where this one wanted to end. I'm flattered that you got so caught up in it. Thank you so much.
*hugs you*

Run off to Vegas and then shag like bunnies in hotel room overlooking the Strip? I like the way you think. :)
