Billy should have been almost deafened by the party-noises around him, but didn't hear a sound, except for Dom whispering in his ear: "Happy 2006, my dear Billy."

I'm spending new year with my parents. Just them and me. I might kiss my cat at midnight...
(i could have been at a party, but for a range of reasons I'm not. Even if I was, I doubt very much I'd be kissed at midnight. Somehow it's better to be with no one to kiss, than in a room with people that simply don't want to kiss me).
