Title: Forever Young

Disclaimer: This never happened and if it did, then I would be ever so fucking happy.
Feedback: Is used at counseling to prove I'm not insane.
A/N: This is for
dizzydame. Who not only made me feel better today when I realised I couldn't go to ORC but always and continuously makes me feel so very good. Thanks so much love. Also, a thanks goes out to Rod Stewart for the use of his song by the same name that helped to inspire this fic.
A/N: This is un-beta'd. All mistakes are mine.
It's one of the last times the hobbit's will be able to come down to this particular beach, at least and not have a reunion as an excuse, and the four of them have decided to take the beach by storm, spending the entire day there as they all name their good-byes, both silently and out loud.
Finally, the sun has begun to set and in true Dommish fashion, Dom has set up a rather large blazing bonfire right on the beach.
Sean has retreated over to where the grills are kept and is currently grilling them all good charcoal-y things to eat. But now. Now, Billy is able to relax back into the sand in a way he hasn't really been able to do all day. Just sit back relax and watch.
And like every time Billy just sat back to watch, his eyes automatically went to Dom. Dominic. His Dommie. God bless his soul, but he was gorgeous. Especially in this blazing firelight that he and Elijah were busy dancing around like crazed followers of some ancient religion.
Billy sighed and sat back, reflecting on everything that had happened in the past year and a half. So much changing had happened, the had all grown and aged-- his hair especially seemed to have taken a beating in that area-- but of all of them, Dom seemed to change in so many ways.
As his lover danced childishly around the bonfire, Billy could see; could see everything Dom was when he arrived here, how young and inexperienced, how loving and care free his lover had been-- sweeping himself up into a huge embrace and never once letting go. True his face did not now carry the same soft pudginess as it had only a year ago, but that same twitchiness, that same child like fascination of everything in his life, remained stead fast and strong.
And what was more, Billy could see that same child-like qualities remaining with Dominic for the rest of his life. It was like Dominic's future self was being projected onto this wild dancing creature, much like how his acting teacher's used to use overhead's to illustrate a point, Billy could see so clearly how Dom was going to be, how he was going to act, and yes, a bit of what he would look like in the future. And Billy was happy to note that the same youthful exuberance that caused him to fling himself at Elijah and tackle him onto the sand, would still remain in ten, twenty years.
Billy felt a surge of protective love rise and crash inside him as Dominic finally rose from the cold sand. The sun had finally set and the air had cooled, their bonfire shining brilliantly in the violet darkness. And there, with the soft ocean breeze blowing his hair this way and that, Dom's eye's looked out at Billy's, the bonfire reflecting back in them to make them more than just sparkle at Billy.
"You're sitting like an old curmudgeon." Dom called out to his lover, his eyes and mouth still laughing with a happiness so complete it could not be repressed.
"And you're dancing like--" Billy's comment was cut short as he gazed at Dom, at how very gorgeous his Dommie was. Finally getting up and going over to him, Billy smiled, his own eyes no doubt reflecting the same light Dom's was as there was no doubt that there was more than just a bit of moisture in his eyes. "Dancing like you're gorgeous." Billy finally finished rather lamely.
Dominic just cocked his head, his eyes moving all over, reading his face and his expression like no other person on earth could. "Don't be so maudlin my love." Dom finally murmured, sweeping Billy up in a huge embrace, kissing him with all the passion that Billy had seen earlier before tugging Billy's hand and pulling him into their dance.
Billy threw back his head, and laughed.
